Strut Tower

I have a 96 spyder gst and today i was driving to work and unfortunatly i hit a pot hole with my back right tire and i heard a loud pop. I went to look around the car and everything seemed to be fine until i climed in the back and saw that my strut was not attached to the car but just chillin there. There is a little rust on there but not too much. It just looked like the strut poped out of its place and there was nothing to support it with.. Any advice would be helpful on what to do or maybe a cheap fix.

Did the nut that holds it in place become undone? Or did it break trough that

If its broken get a new one, dont try and "Ghetto" Rigg it, if it hits the battery *BAM*... least of your worries..

I think some pics would really help in this case, otherwise were all just guessing what the cause was in the first place.

I think he meant rear shock, but yeah I agree don't cheap out with suspension stuff fix it the right way

Daren is right, I was going suggest taking it to a place to get welded but without pics I can't be sure.

If the strut bar popped out of place most likely the bolts got stripped and or cracked. Get new shocks and fix it the right way. Last thing you need is an accident due to a cheap fix.

As i looked closer it rusted all the way and thats why it popped out. Does anybody know how much it would cost to get it welded to the strut tower?
