My struts and springs were just replaced about 5000 miles ago, but i keep hearing a clunking sound when i hit bumps... a buddy of mine said that it could be a strut tower, but everything checks out good with em... what else could i be hearing? it doesn't affect performance, but it's annoying.

Also, i have just replaced both front cv axles and hubs. i was thinking it could be my upper ball joints, but when i checked em out, they were fine.

Front or rear? The same thing happened to me but what it was that the person before me didn't tighten the nut all the way on the top that with a mix of rust on the top strut plates made them break.

i had this problem as well on my last 2g. yes it can be any of all the parts that everyone is posting for you to check. but for me it was an easy fix, 2 of the the 3 upper strut tower bolts were loose! glad i got to them before chaos struck!

i checked my strut tower bolts and my center nut on the passenger side was a little loose. the driver side strut tower mount were all a little loose. i am guessing that the dude that put the new springs and struts in, didnt have the car on the ground when he tightened those bolts down. thanks for all the help guys.

also,
right on for the videos. i test my ball joints by jacking the wheel off the ground a couple inches and using a pry bar under the tire to lift the wheel.

i was just checking out things under my hood last night and realized that the reason my bolts were loose was because of the plate that my upper sway bar is a little too thick. would grinding that plate down a bit fix it?
