Street/strip 400hp automatic ?

Looking to get a awd dsm, gen 1 or 2. Prefer an automatic, wondering what would be required to get an auto to handle 400hp ish as well as pros and cons over the generations. Thanks

A stock auto in good condition with a trans cooler and a shift kit would do 400hp, gen one or gen two is a matter of personal taste, they both use the same engine and transmissions for the most part.
