just bought my first dsm it is a 1997 gst eclipse but.... im having some problems LOL well when it idles i hear a faint ticking coming from the injectors i have no idea what it is any ideas? also when driving if i let off the gas and leave it in gear i hear a very very faint squeak that i would think is coming from the transmission is this common? does it need a trans flush? other then that i am in love with the car

the mods are cold air manley turbo pistons 86mm new crank and balance shaft eliminator kit 16g turbo 255 walbrough fuel pump and 550cc injectors pacesetter header 3in down pipe and greddy ti exhaust and a greddy type s bov the engine was rebuild 3k mils ago so it burns a little oil because i dont think the rings have set all the way

i have paperwork from a shop from when i bought the car and it says it has all this in the motor would the injectors make that noise when they fire? how much does it cost to fix a tick?

how long does it usually take for rings to set?

Most deft litter tick... very common with the 4g63'. What oil are u running???

Now about the squealing... sounds like the throw out bearing is bad from what u described. They are special bearings that are designed to handle the high pressure of the clutch and pressure plate when they start to go bad they tend to chirp squeak or grind.

Likely lifter noise. One of the few cars that actually have noisy Injectors are Bosch FI VW's and Audi's. Trans noise could be any number of things. Throw Out bearing, or simply just a worn out trans. As for the rings, they "seat" nearly immediately. If the car is burning oil, try to verify where it's coming from. Rings, Guides, Valve Seals. I would have a Leak-Down test, and Compression Test.

ok well is the lifter tick gonna destroy the motor? and im running 10w-30 mobile 1 full synthetic also does buring oil hurt the motor im not 100% sure im buring it but i think i am

If you think your burning oil, do a compression test. You can rent the tool from your local auto parts store.
