stock tach problem

i swapped out motors and when i got the car all the gauges worked mint now that i swapped motors now my tach doesnt work. so inspected my wire harness and upon inspection i found a lose wire now the two wires that goes to the plug that plugs into the tach filter are connected but this random third wire is just hanging there and i thinking why my tach isnt working :banghead:

Look inside the plug and see if there is a port for a third wire..If so..Take the plug off, pull out the part where the wire is supposed to go..Hook wire back in, plug back into plug..

Then just put the other wire back together and shrink wrap it, and you should be good to go..

I don't know why there would be 3 wires below that plug if it wasn't meant to have 3 wires in it..
