Tach Problem

My friend has a 91gsx.
He just took out the msd II and now the tach is not working.
Anyone know the right way to uninstall the msd so the tach will work?

Check and make sure that he has the right ECU and that it is not one from a 90. This is more than likely not your problem. Just taking a shot in the dark cause I dont know what could cause it. Other thing make sure all power transistor wires are hooked up and make sure all coilpack wires are connected.This is different on a 90 so make sure you look up 91-94.

I'm about 99% sure that its the white wiring at the power transistor or ignition module or whatever you wanna call it, haha that is your tach signal...check for continuity from there to the tach...if there is no continuity the easiest way to fix it is to run a new wire straight to the tach from the ignition module, unless the break in the wire is an easy one to find cause the wire starts at the ignition module on the drivers side engine bay, goes across to the passenger side engine bay, goes through the fire wall and then all the way back across to the drivers side and up to the tach...not to mention that its all taped up with hundreds of other wires along the way, hope this helps

turbo jimbo is correct about the white wire, it is infact for the tach. it needs to be cut to install the dis2 if i remember. i would make sure that if it was cut that it was put back together. also make sure that if you used a butt conector that you hace goo continuity through the wire to the cluster all the way from the module. if you have continuity then the module is probably bad.
