So I finally got my evo 3 16g installed and I must say that thing is sweet!
However after putting it to the test I heard this pop and then it started to die and no power and i could barely roll to the side of the road. I felt sad about this time. I got out, popped the hood and looked over everything. I started it up and i heard a noise from the passenger side but I could not keep it running it would die as soon as i let off the gas. So I went to where the SMIC is connected and the piping was not connected. SO I reconnected it and it ran fine.
I drove a bit and all was fine. So I stepped on the throttle to get it going and it came off again!

The piping seems too short to me and its a real pain to get it back on there.

I think I need to get a coupler, is there anyplace that would sell a coupler, instead of having to order online?

also on a side note anyone know what size of studded winter tires I can use on my eclipse? The street tires I have currently are 235/40R18 but the local tires shops dont carry that tire with studs. I want to be able to drive without slipping and sliding all over the ice LOL.

looks like its not bolted down on the frame of car anyway. That will bring it up some, which may be enough to fit snug

You could also try ordering a t-bolt clamp. You can get them tighter before they strip out.

As for the winter tires, I'm running 205/60/16 General Altimax Arctics. They've only been on my car since Saturday, but first impressions are that the sidewalls are VERY soft. But I'm coming from 245/40/17 Star Specs that are almost inflated to the max.

OK I will go out and try and find a bolt to fit there.
The tires you mentioned you would use them on 235/40R18 ?

Colt I wanted to mention, you are a great artist :)

I've been running the Altimax Arctics on my winter car for 3-4 years, and just bought two new ones last week to replace the first two I bought. They are a little squirmy compared to all weather tires, but they do work well in the snow.

Ps. Thanks, you should see the paper plate mask I made for Haloween.

I don't own the original stock wheel, but I think they are 17s I guess I could just go down to JTS and buy new rims and wheels that will fit up.

He has a GSX so 17".

Anyways, Colt4g63 pointed everything out for you pretty good and the splash shield part was funny. Also like stated, get a t bolt clamp. After you got everything working really well, get a FMIC:p

I believe that in the end, your car is telling you it wants a FMIC. This is because the bolts on the SMIC got kicked out when the turbo was telling it to GTFO. It is trying to listen to the turbo and is sliding off of the pipe.

Get a FMIC with the 16g and turn the boost up x2. (after maintenance, fuel, tune, and other bolts ons of course).
