Stock security system?

Until recently I didn't even know my Talon had a security system. I was trying to open my hatch with the wrong key (a Hyundai key actualy ), so I was really jiggling the key around and pulling on the hatch, and out of nowhere my horn started going off and the lights were flashing. Sometimes when I turn the car off, I notice a green light on my dash that says "Security" light up. I don't know why, it seems to happen randomly and the light stays on for maybe 10-15 seconds after I turn the car off. What does the light mean? Am I arming the security system or disabling it or something?

This happened to me with my 95 gst. A few months after I bought it i changed all the fuses and one day at the theatre my girlfriend went to open the passanger side door and the car alarm goes off I thought "wtf?! I dont have an alarm" but that day I armed it and whenever i would open the passenger side door it would go off. I stopped it by unplugging the battery then plugging it in again to reset the alarm. And the same deal with the green security light. My car has been sitting for awhile so im not sure if the alarm still goes off, I dont think I had a final solution either, but the battery unplugging (or accidently letting it die) always seemed to reset the alarm so it wouldnt go on when I open the other doors. It would also help to make sure the car is on before you open a door. I dunno if this was helpful but just letting you know that youre not alone.
