stock mas question

ok so i know that there are tons of these questions around here but i cant seen to find what im looking .... so im looking at putting a gm maf on my 93 tsi awd i got the basics of how it works and what not. so does this eliminate the stock mas on my car and on the turbo there is the aire box with the plug in? where the filter is ... is that the stock maf for the car and if it is and when i install the gm maf will this take away the plugin so i can run a hard pipe with a filter off the turbo???? someone show me in a picture or something please and thx

yes it will take the place of your stock sensor. You will be able to use a hard pipe and filter. good luck

Depending on what tuning your going with (you must get a tuning device to run a GM MAF, no exceptions) you might have to grab a MAF Translator (Run around 100 bucks). But yes generally people get the MAF when they go to hard intercooer piping. Most people place it on the upper pipe right before the throttle body. Then you also have to grab a new intake pipe and filter to match. Enjoy improved airflow.
