how do you go about turning the boost up and what type of bov should i go with I have a 90 4g63 and what is a safe level without major head and engine mods
Viva, you seem to be under the impression the stock gauge actually means anything. It tells you the following: you're at vacuum/you're not. That's it.
Trust your AM boost gauge.
. thing is my gauge should easily go to 12 or 14.

I believe stock boost for the 2g's are around 10psi . What kind of vacuum is the car pulling at idle at operating temperature ? It should be around 17-20 with no vacuum leaks . I would maintain stock boost until you understand what set-up is on your car and what each modification you have on it is capable of after doing some research . 2g bov's can handle more then stock boost easily , but a 1g crushef bov can hold as much as an aftermarket bov . Hope this helps .
Believe me its on the list. When I get the FMIC it will be gone!
Side note* Any ideas why my boost gauge needle would shake?
