hehe kinda dumb question but whats stock boost on my car? just wondering if its worth it to install a boost controller and gauge without bov thats all. thanx

I tell you what. I'm running a normal max of about 12 psi. Right now I have no front bumper cover on the car and it was pretty cold here last night. I went out to the store and I hit 14 psi for a split second. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. It always shoots back down to about 10-11 psi after about 5000 rpms.

How are all you stock guys getting 14-15 psi on a stock 2G BOV that leaks at 12 psi?

I'm not really sure but it definitely did hold at around 15 psi at the lower RPMs. At higher RPMs it did drop off to around 12 psi. I guess even if it leaks, if you continue to pump air in at least as fast as its leaking out you can maintain 15psi. Maybe some 2G BOVs are better than others from the factory.

I only made 9 psi in first and 11 psi in the other gears stock. For you guys that are running more than 12 psi, do you hear a 'screeching' from your intake? That's what mine sounded like with the stock BOV and the bcs mod to run 12 psi (the turbo was over speeding and slipping through the air, like a prop in the water). Not good.

My Crushed and Gus-modded 1g BOV started to leak at 15 psi, but does that mean I couldnt run over 15 psi? Of course not. 25 psi was no problem. Look at how much an MBC leaks at 3 psi, and it doesnt keep you from going over 3 psi ;) I ran 14.3 on just a exhaust and filter. Upgrading to a 1g BOV and UICP, boost control etc got me a whole .1 seconds faster. Just for reference. ;)

The only thing I have done to my GST is attach a K&N FIPK (Intake). I just ordered a HKS EVC IV boost controller and I was wondering what is a safe boost pressure to run at? I was thinking 10-11 psi, but I wanted to ask around. I don't feel like blowing up my car and learning the hard way. I apologize if this question has been asked 12305923469346 times.

Stock will be anywhere from 11-14 psi... You can probably run the T25 reliably up to 16 psi... any more than that and the air wil be heating up so much it won't be worth the extra boost and your turbo won't last long... To be safe, I'd stay at 15...

between 10-11 psi, the highest you wanna run on the stock fuel pump is like 13 , anything over that can cause a problem, i run mine at 10 all the time

oh, you can do more than 13 on a stock pump! You can safely do 15 for sure, with no worries, and most can do 16 or 17, especially if you rewire it.

This is of course if the rest of your car is healthy, eg: good ignition, compression, fuel system, etc.

Why wouldnt that be a good idea on a 14b to rewire it and run it at 15 PSI?
the turbo can def take that much boost.
you would be fine running rewired fp and a 14b at 15psi just as long as the rest of your car is in check.
