hehe kinda dumb question but whats stock boost on my car? just wondering if its worth it to install a boost controller and gauge without bov thats all. thanx

I just got a Hallman MBC to replace my Joe P that a friend wanted to buy and put it in screwed all the way out at stock boost. It boosted to 9 psi :tease: It was like driving my moms minivan (I had boost set at 15 psi before the swap) It just felt so weird, and I thought I'd ask if anyone else has ever signifigantly lowered their boost and felt how weird it was.

On another note, I love how much more precise the Hallman RX is than normal boost controllers.:thumb:

Umm, stock boost is zero for me but I definetly forgot how slow my car was without boost.

I was reminded when I took out my wastegate spring b/c it was leaking and I was waiting on a new one holy crap 8 psi isn't anywhere near fast, but my god no boost is ridiculously slow, I felt like I was crawling.

I remember not long ago. I sold my GST last month and it was almost bone stock with T25 turbo. It wasn't that bad, I did lose like 3/4 of my power though which sucked LOL but was still faster than any VTAKKK honda hahaha

Yea I remember because im boostin stock or less than cause I have no boost gauge other than the stock junker it's bone stock and 16years with mega boost leaks im suspecting.

Although I do know one thing it is a hell of alot faster than my 95 N/T it's like night and day.

yeah i remember when i sold my GST i went from 20psi Evo16g setup to stock everything (but the catback) and wow. sucks when you lose 1/2 of your output. i almost got killed cause i forgot one night and went to pass a big rig and the power i expected to kick in wasnt there anymore.

I remember taking my buddy who used to have a STi for a ride at 15psi, then having a conversation of the night and day difference, he said it couldnt be that much, turned the boost controller all the way down, he was amazed :)

then we proceded to put the mbc on the STi and laugh hysterically when we hit fuel cut, threw a check engine light and the cruise control light started blinking. Thank god for free code scans at autozone :)

thats cause their boost is controlled by the ecu.

Stock boost isn't too bad. I feel a pretty decent pull at 11 psi in 1st and 2nd gear. I can only imagine how 20 psi feels.

I just raised my boost to 15 Psi last week... Not too different.. just 15PSI puts me more into my seet then stock ;)
