hehe kinda dumb question but whats stock boost on my car? just wondering if its worth it to install a boost controller and gauge without bov thats all. thanx

Ive owned two tsi's, a 90 and 91. Both had about 8-9psi with all free mods and I was using a real boost guage. Dont know where everyone gets these high numbers. Even my evo3 actuator held at 9psi.

My stock 90 and my friend's stock 91 both have 11 psi on aftermarket boost guage.
Is there a difference with the auto's since they have a different turbo?

I am running my turbo completely open and it will only push 15 psi. When I put everything back to stock it runs about 12 - 13 peak. I haven't COMPLETELY unloaded it with the turbo fully open but is 15 psi all I should expect out of my t25 for average agressive driving?

Also, what should I expect at the track, 16 psi, maybe 17?

Thanks in advance!

I just installed my Autometer boost gauge yesterday and I also did the intake mod with the PVC pipe to allow more air flow in the intake. I idle at about 19 vac and when deccelerating it goes to about 25 vac. But when I get on it and really gun the car my boost gauge shows me running at about 14psi this is when I floor it it won't go higher so im guessing at WOT im at 14psi? I just didn't think a completly stock car would run 14psi stock.... LOL

I have read on other threads people saying there stock DSM makes 14 psi with the t-25. On my 2g Talon the wastegate lines, turbo and the BCM have not been modified.... is it normal to only make 7psi??? :talon:

I hit 16 rock solid all the time after I upgraded to an after market BOV. And that was with OUT the unmodified BCS... I didn't have a boost gauge when I had my 2g bov, so I couldn't tell you what it would hold...
I do belive it depends on altitude, ocatane, and of course, boost leaks.

Alright well this is what I just did. Before to connect the nylon tube to the back of the gauge I had to use Medical tap and wrap it around the nylon tub to hold it in on the nuts that screwed into the back of the gauge cause I broke the ferrule. But I just went and got a new ferrule reinstalled it and now It will boost at WOT to about 12-13 jump back and forth between those two. And when I let off and slow down it goes to about 23-24 Vac. I am pretty sure my plastic BOV if you even will call it a BOV is leaking like a mofo so once I get to it i'll either get the Greddy Type RS or the 1g BOV for it.

It seems somewhere I lost some pressure going to the gauge mabye the ferrule is to tight on the tube now because before with the medical tape it was holding steady at 14psi. So I think I may of tightened it to much and sqeezed the Ferrule down onto the tube to much?
