Stock boost gauge broken

Anyone know what the problem could be? I have an aftermarket one but I miss the stock. Plus, if I remember right the stock measures vacuum too doesn't it?

I figured I would post before taking my dash apart.

The stock one doesn't do anything. Its better off dead. Its just the ECU's guess of boost pressure. Your aftermarket gauge tells you everything you need.

Just forget about the stock one and go with the aftermarket!

The stock boost gauge is crap and even if it was working you still shouldn't go by what it reads.

Now it's established that the stock boost gauge is useless, someone chime in with where it gets its information so he doesn't have a dead gauge in his cluster if he doesn't want it. Can't recall at the moment. All I know is that it's not from the boost control solenoid or vacuum nipples on the throttle body.

It gets it's information from the ECU. The ECU extrapolates a speculated boost reading based on RPM, throttle angle, and airflow. Make a huge boost leak, and the boost will read infinite pressure. Disconnect your MAF, and it should read zero.
