Hey my stock boost gauge stopped working after I installed my white face gauges and I'm trying to get it to work again. I know the stock isnt accurate etc. etc. but I want to get it to work again. I was wondering if maybe anybody had any pics of the backside of the gauge so I have something to compare mine to. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

haha same thing happened to me...what im assuming you did ws took out the boost gauge off of the cluster pod n effed with the screw int he back like i did...mine stopped working...and then i fixed it...its off like it doesnt go all the way down when i turn off the car....but it at least works when i get on the gas...u gotta make sure that little ass coil wire is wrapped around the needle like it was before...it looks cheap put i put it back around the needle n it worked again...if thats not it i dunno what is..maybe it lost its connection...maybe the coil wire in the back is broke...just mess around with it...u cant break something once its broken:thumb:

ah man its been a while...my drawing is a little off but maybe ull understand it....i kno for sure that it raps around the center rod....for what reason i dunno but fromthe rod i dunno where it goes....but check it out

i have a wire looped around the middle rod...alls i kno is my dad unhooked it the guaged didnt work...put it back around it n it worked....as for the rods...u dont move them when i said or i meant it goes to that one rod or the other one....think about how it looked b4 u took it apart when the guage actually worked....or try to find a pic online of what it should look like....or even find a new boost guage at a junk yard...yea now that i put the guages on i wish i hadnt i still think my speed is off but im not sure i gotta go drivin with someone n talk to them on the phone at the same time n check speeds....white face gauges are the biggest pain in the ass since hemorids<---not that i would kno but ive heard

ive looked into what you were talking about...the loop around the rod,and its not gonna happen without breaking it. i dont ever remember it being that way ever. i looked yesterday in the junkyards and no one has a gst here in my area. oh and just so everyone knows...the dealership wants $80 bucks just for that little gauge!!! kinda stuck tryin to find a used one to buy or somethin.

that sucks dude...i really hate messing with little things like boost guages...bein so small the littlest change makes the biggest affect on how it works...all i kno is that i took mine out and looked at it n the coil was around the rod....but good luck with whatever u do...btw does the boost guage needle move at all?...if not move it with your hand and see what its doin on the other side of the guage maybe u can figure it out that way...

another thing...make sure its gettitn power...i believe its the oil pressure gauge thats next to it....is that working? if not u might not have a connection to the guage cluster...or u may not have a good conection from the cluster to the plug that goes behind the cluster....

i got ur pm n i was confused....i looked at the forum n now i understand what u were talkin about...yes im pretty sure thats the rod that the coil wraps around but im not 100% on that so dont take my word...see if u can put that anywhere on the guage...then take a pic....if u cant figure it out id say screw it n get the aftermarket guage

first off the question is did the stock guage in any 2 g ever work ? HELL NO . Them things tell you nothing. Your better off putting a clock in its place it give you more info then that stupid guage. If you are planing on doing anyhting to the car just go aftermarket.

im curious. when i installed mine, i just did a little trimming so it slid right in. little trick i learned from this place who did my buddies. but i guess you kinda fubared the boost guage. oh well, just buy a aftermarked guage that matches your faces, and itll be all good. oh and sometimes, the faces come a little warped, so when you install them and put the cluster back in, the faces will bend out a little, and interrupt the needle. thought i fubared my feul guage, but a piece was preventing it from going over 3/4 and under 1/4, so i just cut that off too.
