stock boost controller electric plug

I have a 2g 96 Tsi. I am about to swap out the factory plastic boost controller for an aftermarket but i noticed that thier is a wire pluged into the bottom of it. Do i just ignore this plug and not use it for aftermarket boost?

Ignore it. Even after I installed my MBC, I left the whole thing on. The stock boost gauge still reads boost, even though it's not hooked to a boost input source.

You will throw a CEL if that plug is disconnected. You don't have to use the boost controller, but the ECU does want to know it's there. If you could determine the value, a dummy load could be wired-in in its place, but I've not seen mention of what that value might be.
