stock boost controller

Where can I find a stock boost controller for a 1g? I do not want an aftermarket one because I still run the stock ecu.

your ecu has nothing to do with turning up the boost... many people here run 15= with a stock ecu.... just need supporting mods and a aftermarket boost gauge...!!!
 
Do you have any idea how your car works? It doesn't sound like it.

The stock Boost Control Solenoid has nothing to do with your "fuel levels" or the ECU's control of them. That would be your MAF/MAS, TPS, knock sensor, CAS, IAT, MDP, etc. etc. NOT your BCS.

If you want to run low boost, run a vacuum line straight from your turbo to your wastegate. You'll hit about 9-10psi. If you want to run more, then you'll need an aftermarket boost controller. Then you can bypass the mostly-useless stock BCS. Since you have a 1g, you can even unplug it from the electrical connector without tripping a check engine light.

Edit: Looking at your mod list, you say you have a 16g and a 255lph fuel pump. And you're worried about a boost control solenoid messing your fuel levels? Do you have any idea what your injector duty cycles are with your 16g? How about your fuel pressure without an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? You're probably running into FP overrun as we speak, while your 16g pumps so much air into the engine that your injectors are open all the time to keep your engine from detonating. Get a datalogger ASAP.
 
ok well what does the car have? you can turn up the boost a little bit... after proper maintenance.... welcome to the dsm world.... these are pretty fast cars.... trust me ull enjoy it...!!
 
The stock BCS does control boost somewhat. It does give you ~1-3 extra pounds then wastegate pressure. The ECU can tell the BCS to lower it depending on your knock count. If you have the stock BCS and do the mod to it removing the restrictor you can raise your boost to ~10-12 psi I run the stock BCS because my system is mostly stock and when I do upgrade turbo and injectors a AFPR and MBC will go with those upgrades.

If you already have the turbo and fuel pump, should look into getting bigger injectors and AFPR along with MBC. You'll get more bang for your buck going that way.
 
And 44, what brands and models of afpr, mbc and what size injectors would you suggest? My engine is also stock and I am not looking to puch more than 12-14 pounds right now.

For 12-14 psi you won't need an AFPR or fuel injectors. I would reccommend a Hallman MBC and love it. What are you boosting now? If you go any higher then 12-14 psi then you will need a larger fuel pump like a Walbro 190 lph.

I'm at stock boost now so about 9-10 pounds. I already have a 255 lph so thats why I am wondering about the fuel pressure regulator.

Oh I see. I am using the Buschur/SX AFPR and it works good but its a little expensive. The reason I asked you about your boost level is because I am running "stock boost" (MBC all the way out) and i'm running 14 lbs. It is different for everyone.
 
Yea, with the 255 you are over running the stock fuel pressure regulator as is and probally running rich alot of the time. But the Hallman boost controller is a widely recommended MBC'er.

As for the injectors probally can stick with the 450's if you plan on staying at 12-15psi. But if looking to go higher probally look into the evo 510's or some 550's.

AFPR there are alot of options. Best for you to search the forums to see what people are using and use your own judgement to get what you think will do you best. With the 255 pump the pressure built up behind your injectors is probally at the higher limit of your stock fuel pressure regulator. IMO it's better to run rich then lean. Running rich though will foul your 02 sensor faster.

If you want to go higher then 12-15psi you should look into getting 510 or 550 injectors. More boost=more air=more fuel. And to run higher then that you will need a MBC to turn it up. Don't forget that if you get larger fuel injectors you will need something to tune with. Could be a SAFC or dsmlink but it can get expensive. I would stick with the 450's for now.

its quite easy to install...... as for the mbc... you have to connect one side to the wastegate and the other to the j pipe or turbo housing....!!!!

Best Way To Install a MBC

An AFPR is easy to install, especially if you get a bolt on one like mine or one with an install kit like this one. Assuming you have a manual transmission your fuel pressure should be set at 37 psi with the vacuum line off.

Fuel pressure with the vacuum line off:
1G MT = 37psi
1G A/T = 43psi
1G NT = 48psi

Just remember not to use one like the old B&M CommandFlo. That wasn't a real AFPR. Don't get one that attaches to the stock FPR, or modifies the stock one. A pretty reputable one is the Aeromotive brand.

The MBC will go between the compressor/j-pipe nipple and the wastegate actuator. Do not use the BOV hose for a boost signal. All MBC's are different, so you'll have to play with it a bit to get the 12psi you desire.
