stock is around 10-11psi and dont turn it up until you have a boost gauge. when you have a boost gauge exhaust and intake the most boost youll want is about 15psi on the stock t25.

Ya, we got the car with an exhaust, intake, boost, and a/f guage. However, it was already running 15 psi. How would it already be at 15 psi since it didnt have a boost controller?

if a tiny little restriction is carefully pulled out of the Factory boost solinoid it could be getting around 14-15psi...before I had a bc my talon got 14lbs.

What is better, stock setup with the restriction removed, or a manual boost controller?

Removing the factory piece is free, but with a boost controller (10 dollars to 500) you can carefully adjust what you want the boost to be set at. If you upgrade turbos later, you don't want to be running the ghetto free mod.

Removing the stock restriction will only give you 14 or so psi...with a manual boost controller...or electronic for that matter, you can set it at whatever you wish or sometimes even more than one setting........currently I have a Dejontool dual-stage manual boost controller...$125

actually the stock boost is 14-15psi. However the POS 2g bypass valve leaks at anything over 12psi. So, MBC or not, w/ a stock bv you won't see anything over 12 psi.

My stock boost was 9psi at wot without any leaks and a decent bov that held pretty good(when I went to a 1g it stayed at 9psi). I ran a 14.9 at that setup so I would say 10-11 is stock...but anyways with higher flow intake and exhaust you will boost more even on a stock system.

stock boost is 11 psi on a 2g!!....the stock blowoff on a 2g will leak at 13 psi...so if you have the restricter taken out and your bov is still recirculated you won't notice it because the metered air is still going through the engine.

The 1g blowoff is better and can hold better boost..

When I got my car it had the restriction taken out and would hit 13-14 psi depending on rpms...in the higher rpms it would drop to 12 or 13 due to the leaky bov...when I put the greddy type-s in it it would hit and HOLD at 14psi.

since then I have done the free mod to a couple buddies cars and same thing...11psi. stock...freee mod 12-14 on stock bov and 14firm with aftermarket bovs.

I am very curious now, I currently have a K&N filterpack, a thermal 3.5" cat back on a stock T25 (sorry 10,000 miles till the warranty is up) with a proper boost gauge, and a 1g bov with hard upper/lower intercooler piping.

At wot, i hit about 14-14.5 psi then it drops down to the 11-12 range. If i did the restriction removal (free mod) I wonder if i would hold at 14-14.5? I will try it and get back to the forum with my results!

i dunno what to tell you on that one...so the restriction is not taken out??

maybe due to the exhaust you are hitting 14 at first...or....a leak in the hose coming out of the stock boost solenoid....

On my dejon tool dual stager there is intentionally a hole in a connector in between the boost controller and the waste gate actuator....this causes the boost to spike a couple pounds over the set point and then settle into place...but it spools a little bit quicker this way.

check for a leak between the factory boost solenoid and the wastegate actuator...

does this all make sense to you?

The stock t25 can't hold full boost to red line. Infact, it will drop to between 10 and 11psi at around 5krpm. The t25 sux soo bad. Its not your blow off valve thats leaking, its the wastegate that can't keep up. There is a 17 psi actuator arm you can buy from Road Race... I think for around $100 that will bolt up to your T25 and hold full boost (15psi) to redline.

my t-25 only drops down to about 16psi and holds......
