So I've been thinking about turning the boost up for a while now. I've been searching the forums and reading up on others posts. I'm currently running 15~16psi on my EVOIII16g. All of my other mods are listed in my profile. I have a general parts list for some things i need to or like to do before hand.

850cc injectors
Wideband 02
Comatec Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs

My main concern is that Kansas only has 91 Pump gas :(. i have heard 20psi is about max on 91 with an EVOIII16g. Is this true? Are there other things i should buy before turning up the boost? My original psi goal was 23~24 on pump, but the more I read the less I think that is possible. Now, I'm just wondering what a safe PSI level would be with the previously listed mods

Any help or opinions on this topic would help me out.

i would say on 91 pump 18-20psi max, unless u r planning to mix with c16 then u can get your goal.my friend is running 91pump and c16 mixed on 26psi safely.but stay in the 18-20psi range on 91 pump.

Your next mod should be a datalogger. That way you can monitor your Injector Duty Cycle and Knock. You have the 99 ECU that is flashable so you can get EVOScan and the Tactrix cable for datalogging. Use the Tactrix cable and ECUFlash to reflash your ECU. If you stick with the SAFC, 850cc injectros will be too big for them to control. A 660-680cc injector is about all the SAFC can handle. Also, look into getting a fornt mount intercooler or a Supra side mount intercooler. You're oging to heatsoak the stock intercooler pretty quickly running 18-20psi on a 16g.

THANKS GUYS! this thread cleared up alot of things for me.

i figured id need to get a datalogger soon. EVOscan looks pritty sweet.

as far as E85. my home town has an ethanol plant. i have access to about any grade of ethanol fuel thats produced. but, i'v heard it can damage things. any insite on that?

iv heard of people using meth/water injection to support boost. is that a cost effective and viable solution in this case?

Also, im deffiantly going to look into a FMIC

Sorry dont mean to jack thread, since we are on the topic and without making another thread..

Can I data log on a iphone 4 ?

You really do need a data logger before you turn up the boost that much. You need to know what's going on internally since you very well could run 20-25 psi and be fine. Perhaps you will knock your ass off but you won't know until you get the logger.

inorder to run e85, you should get bigger injectors. you could safely run as much boost the turbo can make. but this depend on what you are using to tune the dsm. i'm using dsmlink and that's what i'm going for.

16g should max out about 25-27 psi if everything goes good. go e85 and it'll reduce knock if you want to get pass 22 psi. like said above, pump gas will give you knock especially with safc and stock mount.

91 can go a long way with meth injections, there's guys here running 10s with 91 pump and meth. You need something to data log with though so you can see how the car is running as you play with everything.

For E85 you need bigger injectors.

Regardless of which route you take, I would some sort of data logger.

i think EVOscan is diffinatly the priority right now.

and down the road i think ill swap the SAFC for DSMlink for tuning capabilities before i go bigger than 20PSI reguardles of going with Meth or E85

i just thought of something

once i go e85, can i go back to 91 with just a simple re-tune?
