What is the power potential of the stock block (stock internals). I am about to purchase a big 16 from MajesticTurbo here in Waco, and I was wondering how much I could get out of the stock block. Of course I would be changing the intake/exhaust and fuel system, but thats about all that I want to get into right now. BTW, its my daily driver and a 98 auto GST w/ 93xxx on the clock. Car runs perfect, no smoke, not using any water or oil. The car that I have perviously to this was a 87 starion with a 14g...til it blew up. Is 350 whp reasonable. Input is very welcome.

Thanks in Advance
James

Thanx. Ok, another noob question: What is a 6 bolt and a 7 bolt. I know that the 1G's had the 6 (I think), but what is it refering to?

Thanks in Advance
James

The 6 bolt also has a better flowing head, stronger rods and isn't prone to develope crankwalk. I have also heard that either the connecting rod journals or the main journals are larger on the crank, however Im not sure about this as Ive never taken apart a 7 bolt engine.

it all depends on your skills on tuning and maintaining the proper a/f curves and keeping knock and detonation away.

Thanks guys. I'm new to the Eclipse, but not to turbo :dsm: 's. So far, Im loving it! Majestic Turbo is here where I live, and I talked to the owner, and he said he'll help me get it up to 350 to the wheels. Which means about 425 or so to the crank. One of the main down sides is that I drive an auto, but thats just something else that I get to work with.

Thanks in Advance
James

BTW: If any of you guys are interested in a Starion, let me know. I have 2 that I'm selling

you getting the EVO 16g? You should be able to get 350 to the wheels out of that.. just do some good tuning. Your stock block should be fine with that.. i dont forsee a problem other than doing something wrong.

Yep, thats the turbo! If I can't afford the EVO, I just buy most of the parts it my car feels like one. I know I'll need a new bov to hold the extra boost, and I just broke mine to day  But you worries, I have a TurboXS RFL in the box on my shelf. Alls I's needs is an adapter. Anybody have a cheap one? or a bypass valve that they would like to trade me for?

Do you think its a good idea to get an error code reader? or just get a PDA and start data logging?

Thanks in Advance
James

if you are going for 350 to the wheels you need to do everything in our tuning guide. check it out. link is up top on the black bar.

Who is this guy making 551 hp on a stock 7 bolt? I'v heard people mention this guy in several posts. Is he on this board?
