Car: 93 Eagle Talon n/t 4g63,
I am planning on building it for a turbo (please no one say "sell it and buy a turbo", i got it for cheap because the motor knocks. When you plan a full rebuild anyways it doesnt matter so much. Anyways I am planning to use the stock block and head again (new everything else pretty much). I know that a completly stock 4g63 turbo is good for 350ish. Do the n/ts and the turbos use the same block? (other than the oil squirters) and would i have any problems with the stock head? I am looking to get in the 300 -400 hp range, more if possible. But i just want to know how much it is capable of because it makes a lot of difference on what i am planning for the build. Oh yeah,, and the stock crank/ rod numbers too if anyone knows. Thanks in advance:thumb:

'I think' the heads are the same. But the core blocks themselves are identical. Stock vs stock the compression is different. You could simply buy the turbo engine components and be good to go. There have been many 1g's that reached 300-400 hp on a stock block. But if you have the money, buy aftermarket pistons atleast. I know a stock turbo head you wont have any problem with, and I really really dont think the n/t head is different. But dont quote me.
good luck

Cool, Thanks man!:thumb: I just wanted to know because if the block/head can handle it I'm going to build it for 400 hp and make this into a long term project car (probably not running untill next summer w/ my budget:cry: ) I was thinking of the SBR 2.3 bottem end and some good head stuff ( havn't done much reading on head internals yet, srry i can't get more specific) But if my block was only good for 2OO or so i was just going to throw some stock turbo pistons in and slap a pretty much stock kit on it. But if the block/head will hold it I'm planing to make this into a long term project and build a FWD monster:D If anyone can give me a deffinate on the head #s or some more specific numbers on the block ( i think i've read that stock "internals" can reach 350ish, But i don't remember seeing anything specific on what the block itself is good for, or the head for that matter) If anybody with some real technical knowlage on the specifications of the block/head could give me some advice that would be just swell.:talon:
Thanks

I ve heard that the n/t 4G63 also has different cams compared to the turbo motor. So you might want to check into that. And since you will have the motor apart, why not throw in a ton of forged parts so that you could have a very reliable and nearly bullit proff motor :)

^ I agree, heard the same of the cams. Save and toss in the forged...and never look back

Oh yeah,, I am planning a full rebuild for the motor,, i am going to build it for a turbo,,, the block/head/tranny/ and valve cover are pretty much the only parts that are going to be used over. New bottem end/head work/cams/drivetrain and fuel system,,, the works,, i was just wondering about the specs on the block/head because they are probably going to be the only original parts. In the end i am hoping for a reliable 400 ponys w/ an lsd/ and a streetable clutch w/ no slipping (forged gears 1 and 2 if i can afford it),,,,,,ahhhhhh yes,,,,,
