I'm building a 4g63 head and 4g64 block to go into my Starion and I'm trying to decide what size turbo (and exhaust manifold) to get. I will be running a Magnus Street SMIM and Kelford 272 cams with adjustable cam gears for the head. The block will be a stock crank, forged rods, and probably Wiseco pistons but mainly the bottom end will all be stock dimensions so 2.4 liters (not stroked).
I am shooting for ~450hp but this will be a daily/weekend driver so I want a turbo that will have fairly good low end response but not choke on the top end. I know that I will have an advantage in that the block is 2.4 vs 2.0 so I will have more to get the turbo spooling. I would prefer to get a twin scroll but that will depend on the total price of the exhaust manifold and turbo.
So what I need from you are manifold/turbo recommendations. What I would really like to know is which manifold, a budget turbo, and then a upgrade turbo. The more recommendations the better so that I can have some items to research.
Thankx, David.
