I filled my car up with coolant a little over a week ago. I checked it yesterday the coolant level was fine about half way up on the reserve. But last night I ran the car pretty hard. and the coolant was overflowing out of the reserve and boiling pretty badly. but there was no smoke. Then today there was no coolant. Could this just be a Thermastat?

It could be but it is probably a HG but I would change your Thermastat first and see what that does. By chance do you have a front mount IC?

PS>update your profile so we can help more! Thanks.

OK!

I took the cap off and started up the car. Let it get to operating temperature. There was coolant flowing. however the coolant light was still on. and after about 10 minutes the coolant started to bubble up pretty bad. One fan came on a couple of minutes after that for about 5 seconds then shut off. Still bubbling. Coolant was not leaking anywhere. the fan came on a couple more times for a few seconds. and there was a little bit of smoke/steam coming off of where the cap goes... and ideas?

Check the seal on your coolant cap,if that flat rubber seal is rotted and not sealing, the pressure that builds up in your cooling system will get blown into the overflow tank and your engine will lose coolant.Road Race Engineering has a higher pressure GReddy cap for $16.

IF your fans are turning on and your thermastat is good, it can be your headgasket. It depends on what kind of boiling we are talkin bout. Massive boiling? Or a intermediate boiling that seems like it is a pattern?

If massive boiling, id lean twards the thermastat. If a pattern type boiling id go with headgasket.
