Well I replaced my head gasket and my Turbo as well as re-do my thermostat housing gasket and I am still having white smoke Coming from my exhaust at idle and in reverse. I'm honestly stuck on what it can be. Any input is appreciated

Thanks
armin

What exactly do I need to pressurize in the system and where would I connect the compression tool to? I tried searching it up but only came up with one topic saying to pressurize it from the radiator cap yet I don't see how without some sort of flange or coupler unless Im not understanding the concept correctly of it.

EDIT: Dude's fast ^. :)

You guys honestly all are.

You can rent or buy a special tool that has adapters for various radiator caps, and lets you see if the coolant system holds pressure. Or you can inject high pressure into the cylinders (aka leak-down test) and look for bubbles in the coolant at the filler neck.

Ill try and do both this week when I find the time and ill update. I still plan to replace the Headgasket one more time.

I also have another question can I still have the turbo, compressor, and o2 housing connected to the exhaust manifold and still pull the head off? Last time I did it I left the intake manifold and exhaust manifold on when I took the head off but Im curious if I can leave the turbo on too when I take it off.

Thanks

You can...although I find it easier to just drop the turbo off the EM with the 4 bolts, and lift the head with the EM attached, but with the turbo and everything else in the car.

Oh wow Im dumb that makes a lot more sense since the turbo and everything will just sit there more or less. Good stuff I always do hate taking the long way to find the shorter route later haha.

Thanks again Calan

And thanks BogusSVO

Both of you have helped out loads not just in this thread either ;)

Gotta say man I admire your motivation. I just read the whole thread and sounds like your doing a killer job at fixing your car with not much first hand experience. Good luck!!

Trust me this car is a learning experience but I do plan to be an engineer so understanding the mechanics from looking at it helps out a lot. I have never done a clutch before and have been able to successfully install mine with no problems in 2 days. The time span is a bit long but I torque, thread lock, anti sieze , RTV sealant everything that needs to be specifically and recheck everything as well.

Im honestly still learning and still feel like a noob but its a learning experience and I better as damn well learn since I need my car 6/7 days a week Haha.

Thanks

Armin

ALSO FOR BOGUSSVO
I don't know if this will help at all but this is my head after I was done doing the prep work.

Head dosnt look too bad, I would say it is at min thickness spec, due to you touching the edges of the valves.

As long as you check the warp, and stay with a composite you should be fine.
