Hi All, I finally got my license last week and have been having a blast driving around my eclipse, but now my leg hurts like a bastard, because I'm just a little bit too tall for my eclipse. I'm 6'7", and while the left leg feels fine, the right has to press forward just a bit too much.

I found some mentions of two mods; one where you lower the seat onto the bracket / make it move back further, and another where you can put washers on the steering column to tilt the wheel higher or move it back more. Both seem like they would help me quite a bit

The only problem is that I can't find links of this for the life of me, or they are just straight up dead links.

Would anyone have any idea where I can find posts with people actually showing how they did this?

My knees and future self will thank you!

I'm running a sparco seat with brackets. I think tilting the wheel might be risky. I'm 6,9 and have no issue wit the seat lowered and slid all the way back.

Seat is something like this: https://www.sparco-official.com/en/r100-my22-009014.html
Bracket: https://www.sparco-official.com/en/slide-runners-22530.html

Both it all second hand and paid 300 for 2 seats and rails.
Thanks for the tip! I would prefer to keep my OEM seats if possible, I do like them, they're just not perfectly comfortable... The adjustability is nice too, as mostly I'll be doing roadtrips with friends in my car, and they would definitely be sitting way too low in a Sparco, haha

My Wifes Farther was 6'5 and he used to own my DSM before me. His head used to nearly touch the headliner. He could drive it for long periods of time and while on the cloth seats vs leather which cloth is more comfy the seats would allow him to be quite far back and reach everything nicely. Of course torso to body height can differ per person. If your struggling for your right foot you maybe able to adjust the pedal a bit and remove it to bend it outwards for your foot.

As for the steering wheel, no washers will be safe. You will just need to change the steering wheel out with a hub adaptor. The wheel relys on splines and they are 100% engaged as they sit. Any thing less will stress the splines more and possibly strip them which is dangerous.

So safe way is to use an aftermarket adaptor and use either a spacer on a flat wheel or dished wheel. But either one of those will need the hub adaptor to bolt onto the splines.

I like the pedal idea! And yeah, I do have most length in the legs, but my head also almost touches the headliner. It does if I sit up straight. I have the cloth seats too, the only reason I don't want to change the steering wheel is just because I don't want to lose my airbags... I do like the idea that if something happens I'll be safe. Disappointing to hear the washers won't be safe.

For the gas pedal, you mean to physically alter the shape of the pedal itself? That might work... Or perhaps I could install a different pedal that is shaped better or something like that?

Or perhaps I could buy a second pedal and just experiment with it, cutting off 3-4cm so it sits further back? 🤔

Since you are tall, you sit quite far back anyhow, so the chances of you touching the bag may be slim since your legs push you further back.

As for the pedal, yes. slightly tweeking it to push it forward will help. But be warned, it will now sink the brake pedal back in feel, so you need to get used to that. The brake is normally a bit higher up than the accelerator, and now would be level or a bit higher.

No cutting needed. you just bend and tweek it forward towards you more since you say you have to push your foot forwards to reach it since you sit further back in the seat. this will bring the pedal towards you.

You could cut it and weld it towards you while bracing it more of course but get someone who can do that safely for you, it has to be real strong
