steering wheel size

I have the stock leather wheel in my 1G right now and I was thinking of installing a Momo wheel but when I test fit it I noticed that the 350mm Momo wheel kinda block my view to the tach and speedo even with the wheel tilted all the way up... I haven't measured it yet but I think the stock wheel is 370mm.

I'm sure others are running aftermarket wheels... what did you do to get around this?

BTW, I sit upright so ghetto recline is not an option... I searched for shorter hubs but the Momo seems to be the shortest you can get without custom making one... NRG's short hub is used with their quick release... using this hub with their short quick release requires the use of a a 0.5" spacer bringing the height nearly back to the Momo hub.

I loved having a smaller wheel. But I never look at the tach or speedo when racing, so what you're worried about wasn't an issue for me.

That's great but I use my instrument... I track and autocross and having a working and visible tach and speedo are important.

I don't want this to turn into a debate about "racing"... Any tips on aftermarket wheels would be appreciated!

I have a smaller momo on my 1g gsx thats torn apart in the garage, i havent driven it in years since i started tearing it down but i dont remember this being a problem...

If my memory suits me i remember that small steering wheel and power steering being disconneted a blast to drive!!!!

just cut out some cardboard to the same dimensions as the wheel you are looking at and go mock it up before you buy it.
