Lately when I am turning sharp turns the steering wheel seems to stop at certain points of the rotation like its getting stopped or getting blocked by something. Then there is screeching noises coming from I don't know where... either my the tire area or somewhere under the hood when I am making these turns. I checked the steering wheel fluid and it is good. I know for sure my drivers side CV shaft is messed up and I am waiting for UPS to deliver my new one. Is it the CV shaft that could be causing these problems? I really hope thats what it is.

Thanks guys

also my A/C compressor has a bad clutch so the pulley to the compressor is just spinning freely without engaging the clutch in the compressor... i dont know if maybe that is causing the belt to be erratic... I assume the steering pump and the A/C compressor is on the same belt. just another fact that I just thought of.

Nope. Two different belts. I see this happen a lot on cars with bad p/s pumps.

thanks guys i hope its just a loose belt, my A/C compressor just went out like 2 weeks ago and if my PS pump went out too im going to be highly pissed... this is the reason i am trying to sell this car, unreliable bastard.

oh yeah and just to top it off my car wouldn't start today due to a dead battery.... now im thinking i might have a bad battery or worse a bad alternator.... DAMN IT

I just remembered I thought I saw a tad bit of smoke coming from the engine bay yesterday when I was driving and this morning my car wouldn't start due to a dead battery. After researching old threads I am thinking that maybe my pump is leaking and it leaked fluid onto my alternator :( Although I checked my reservoir and it was full this morning. I am trying to see if these problems (a/c not blowing cold air anymore/screeching and hard steering/and dead battery) are all interconnected.
