I have just purchased a stage 1 longblock from Buschur Racing, and in the process of putting in my order with John Shep for a stage 1 tranny. My question being what are my best turbo options. I'm looking for something in the low 400's, more worried about a quick responsive turbo than big horse power. This cars not going to even see the Drag strip. Everyones opinions will be well researched.

You should check out Star turbo's (Turbo specialties) kits. http://www.turbospecialties-race.com/mitsubishi/me25B2e.asp Depending on your set up, you could possibly reach the 400 mark with this set up.

Ok, again, do you even know what your talking about? The car he has comes stock with the t-25... He would be lucky to put out 230whp with that. Whats with today?? Third person ive caught saying something, and they obviously have no clue what they are saying.

Go for a BB bearing 50 trim. Fast spool and 400awhp rather easy. There a many different variations so that would be up to you. The Evo 3 turbo is great for spoolup, but most people only get about 300awhp.

If you have the money I would look into a FP 3052. It's dual ball bearing so it spools way under 4,000 rpm on a 2.0 Also it should make all the power you will ever need. Plus I have read that Forced Performance's quality and customer service is second to none.

I'm going to look into the FP 3052. Money isn't really an option, I already made up mind that I'm going to put down a pretty penny for this project... If anyone needs more info I have a list of some items I have already have sitting in my garage waiting for the swap. Apexi Power FC commander, Greddy 13 row oil cooler, HKS SSQ BOV, Driveshaft shop driveshaft and Axles made good to 600+ HP. I'm waiting to purchase my front mount, fuel system, and manifold tell I figure out what I'm going to do with my turbo. Any good options for a tranny cooler will be a big help as well. As you can see I'm going to with up most reliablity and cooling for this car as well. This is my baby.

I looked in to the FP 3052 and did a bit of online research, I like what I see if anyone is semi-familier with the turbo let me know what you think. I like the options the FP gives you. Or if anyone has a good alterative I would like to know as well. By the way Road Race eg. will be doing the swap of the engine, tranny, and turbo setup. I will be doing the suspension, brakes, and other pieces myself. I'm more familiar with the Maryland DSM scene. So if anyone knows some place better in California I'm more than happy to take suggestions.

First of RRE is awesome and you should use them.

Second: FP3052 is a GREAT option, and probably the best possible turbo for your goals. run this with the new FP exhaust manifold, vband wastegate and 2.5 inch o2 housing and you'll be set.

So I don't really have any experience with the apexi power FC commander, but I really haven't heard of too many people using this on DSMs. If you're familiar with it from previous use, then I'm sure you'll be fine, but you probably won't be able to get much support from other DSMers.

Also, venting your BOV to atmosphere will cause your engine to stumble in between shifts, unless youre using the GM MAF translator, or a speed density tuning device. I'm not sure if the APFC thing does that.

Transmission cooler. Do you have an auto or manual? If auto, i'd recommend the shift kit and possibly a higher stall torque converter with a nice big cooler. I've seen the shift kit make a hell of a difference. If Manual, you have to piece together your own pump and cooler, using a tilton gear oil pump and any regular cooler.

You should also look into the PTE turbo's. I've had great experiences with them.

Especially some of the smaller 50 trims like the 5027. They spool really quickly and it sounds like that's what you are looking for. They also come with the mitsu housing if you want so you can get a mitsu manifold.

I currently have a a 5-speed in there but I'm ordering the stage 1 from John Shep next month. If that answers your tranny question. But if I'm not going to get proper tech support for the FC commander. I just did a little research on it and I have a lap top for it and I've road tuned a couple evo's and an STI. I just heard that the interface was really simple, and they have really easy to read fuel maps. But if theres a better option for me I would like to hear suggestions. I have no problem returning it, haven't taken it out of the box yet.

Well, I would recommend DSMlink, especially seeing that you have a 95, which most likely already has the eprom ECU. You said you already have a laptop, so it would actually be cheaper for you to go with the 600$ DSMlink, and then add a wideband O2 sensor (like the zeitronix kit) and a MAP sensor. you'd end up at about the same cost.

I'll PM you about the other questions you had.

Well I really don't want to piggy back anything. Thats all I'm worried about. I want a full stand alone system. This is my first DSM, and well many of my friends in MD have TSI's and GSX's. The oh piggyback approach is just not what I want to deal with. All it spells out is problems.

I second the vote for DSMLink, and a very hearty 3rd (or 4th) recommendation for the FP3052. There really is nothing better, as far as quality, reliability, post-purchase support, and technology. Its response is mind blowing for a turbo that's capable of 500+whp, and it won't be struggling in the slightest to put you into the 400's.

I agree. www.dsmlink.com

your other option for a completely non stock standalone would be AEM EMS. I really don't like this system, and would prefer something like Autronic, but as far as supported DSM tuning options, the three major ones are Apexi SAFC/NEO (piggyback), DSMLink (lets you log and remap your own ecu, plus more) and AEM EMS (full standalone seperate ECU).

I already put in the call this morning to FP about the 3052 with the o2 housing and Tial wastegate... I call back tomorrow to discuss my options with a tech and put down the cash.

So everyone is saying keep the FC commander unit in the box... Return it and go with dsmlink... Guess I should really consider.

DSM Link or MAF Translator Pro, turbo wise I would go with the 3065 with that Buschur short block and Shep trans. 16G's and 50trims are great until a LS1 on spray walks you on the street.

Next big question... Ive been doing some digging and I want to know any if not all my options for a front mount? I'm going to keep my A/C I live in central cali... It gets like 100 during the summer.
