hey dsm community. i got my first dsm a couple months ago. its a 1991 mitsubishi eclipse GSX and i absolutly love it. but i recently got into a minor wreck and neede new body parts well i ended up buying a parts car with two engines and a complete body for 1000 dollars today. my dad and i are going to rebuild one engine and drop the already new clutch and newly rebuilt tranny in my car as well as steal the body panels.

this is my first time working on an engine for myself so if anyone has any good add ins to the engine build i am making i would love it. i want a fast car that i can use as a daily driver. any tips tricks or hints i can use in this rebuild and creation of my new beauty would be awesome.

Good to hear that you love your DSM, but the question is what do you want out of it? What are your expected goals you want to reach? There's a lot of different paths you can take when rebuilding the motor, but my recommendation is if something stock comes out, put something aftermarket back in. Also quality parts done right the first time will save you lots of headache in the future.

Well i have talked to my dad about some of that already. basically i know that a stock car has about 150hp at the wheels. i would like to build into the engine about 225hp if possible and if not then i know there are mods to help acheive that easily as in the tech/diy. But i'm not exactly sure how to achieve this and my dad only has some ideas. thats why i posted this so i could get so ideas. help. hints. anything i could use to make this car come alive once again.
