Well it's taken me a little over 3 months now, but I finally completed my 6 bolt build. There were so many times that I just felt like giving up and towing the car off a cliff, but it's all been worth it now that it's done.

This is everything I bought for the build:
JDM 6 bolt block
Weisco forged Pistons
Brian Crower Connecting Rods
Clevite Bearings
Walboro 255 lph
Precision 780cc injectors
Aem High Flow fuel rail
Toga Oil Pump
Extreme Turbo Systems FMIC
PTE 5027 Turbo
B&M external oil cooler
3 inch GM MAS
Evo3 Exhaust Mani
Tial 38mm WG
Greddy Type RS BOV
3 Inch Custom Turbo Back Exhaust

I'm sure there's more, but that's the jest of it.

So here's what I had to work with:

1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Then I bought an EVO III exhaust manifold, and welded a wastegate flange on top of the number one runner.

Very very nice work. I was at first nervous about the oil cooler placement but it sounds like you got it under control. Curious to know: was the motor out of a donor car or refurb?

The block was brand new JDM 6 bolt that I ordered. And all of the other parts are brand new.

Only thing that isn't new is the shell.

The texture on the vent mount came from some custom fiberglass work in combination with some texured coating. It was alot of work but I like how it turned out.

You say textured coating, but what WAS the textured coating? Do you have a link of the stuff you used? Thanks

Yea, this car won't see the track but maybe once a month. I designed this build to be a fun car to drive around town, and to meets and such.

So any larger turbo would've been too laggy for my liking. I actually started out with a 60-1 trim precision turbo, but exchanged it for the 50 trim after thinking about it.

After I get my cams in and dyno, if I'm not happy then I might upgrade to a little larger turbo. Maybe a GT35r or something.

Nice build man, looks great. Keep us posted and keep the pictures rolling. Im doing the same thing myself, if your interested, check out my thread.

Thanks man. You're build looks really nice. Make sure to keep us posted. I really like that you're doing everything right the first time, and putting in the extra money and effort to make sure nothing is shortcutted.

I would post in your thread, but I'm not allowed to because I'm not a proven member. After my full 6 bolt build, I still am not ready for the level of responsibility that comes with being a proven member. Maybe once I become a Mitsubishi Master Technician I might be able to handle proven membershipness.ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

LOL, yeah I would have to say you def. should be a proven member. Thanks for the compliment, stay tuned to see the motor I have sitting in my room be built and tons of other goodies. Lots of parts are coming and I have a lot sitting around. Ill take pictures and post them soon.

This was a good build up man, gave me alot of info on how to do mine. I'm working on my own 4G63T build up. So reading through this really helped me out. So I'm interested in seein that dyno sheet, could use an idea of where I might end up.

I'm glad you enjoyed my build. I should be at the dyno within the next few weeks. I'm thinking about dropping my cams in before I dyno. not sure though.

I'm also having some problems getting a solid tune. No matter what I do with my MAF-T, at high rpms under full boost my air/fuel goes to like 10.5, so I'm trying to get that worked out.

Sup bro... Nice work man.. Looks like you guys did a very clean and thorough job. LOL, if funds would have permitted me to do so, I was going to swap the rebuilt 6 bolt motor thats in the 95GST that I bought into my blue 97 GST, but I decided to just keep my 7 bolt because it's been reliable enough for me. :)

Was the total 6 grand for everything including machine work, etc?? And also rebuilding your transmission, as well as the new turbo?!!! IF SO, then that's a frickin good deal.. so for 6 grand you practically have a brand new car! :thumb:

Aight bro.. peace out!LOL

My friend did the transmission for me. He's the one you see in the pictures with the direcTV shirt and hat on. He's my "builder", and he did a really good job on the tranny and didn't charge me anything ### that's how we roll. But if your looking for someone to do work for you he does really good work at a price better than any shop can match.

I actually made him a business symbol:

So put the word out.

As far as engine pricing, I paid $0 for any type of work or installation, me and my friend did it all. So the $6000 you see is 100% parts.

Hey guys, I need ideas on where to mount my datalogger... Anybody seen some good hardmounts?

datalogger? wheres the dsmlink?

Your oil cooler is not setup right by any means. You can only mount an oil cooler sideways or upwards and not downwards. Right now your oil cooler is not even filling up with oil it is just running across quickly to the other side. I suggest you fix that if you want to cool the oil. Not trying to come off with attitude just do not want something to happen that could have easily been avoided.

hello i have a 14b turbo on my 93 eclipse 4g63. the flange for the oil pan think its a t3-t4? but dont know? where could i get 1 at?

You can start by making your own thread in the n00b section instead of bumping a 2 year old thread.
Also look at our vendors, such as the best one ever IMO
