Well i hooked up the starter and it doesnt turn over. all 3 wires were hooked up. When i did a test on it the starter pops out but doesnt spin. Though when you hook it up normally and turn the ignition nothing happens.

Any help is appreciated

the gear inside the starter pops up, but does not spin. I'm sure its normal, since the starter gear isnt always connected to the flywheel, it pops out and then spins to turn it over. But the starter pops out but doesnt spin when i test it

This is easy. Just take a jumper pack or a spare battery and hook up cables to the battery. Take the starter on the bench. Hook up the ground to the case of the starter and then take positive and hook to the big terminal. Then use a jumper to connect to the terminal the little wire hooks to from the big terminal. Hold on tight when you do this. It helps to have two people. The starter should throw the bendix out and spin. If it doesnt then the starter is bad. Hope this helps. Travis
P.S. Dont hook up jumper cables to the battery in your car unless it is disconnected because the dsm gods may decide to fry your ecm for you
