:talon: hey i found this stage3 2.3l stroker on slowboyracing for my 6bolt. im a phone call away from ordering it. please give me your thoughts as of a sstroker and expierences. thank you
Kit Includes:

Custom SBR Pro-Billet Aluminum Rods Or Manley Rods (YOUR CHOICE)
Custom SBR racing pistons ( big shot of nitrous welcome, lots of boost etc... They'll Love It! )
Clevite Main Bearings
Clevite Rod Bearings
New 4G64 crank

SBR Ross Racing 6 Bolt Stroker Piston Compression Ratio - 7.5:1

Manley 6 Bolt OR GRP Aluminum Extreme Rod Length - 5.900"

Now if your wondering how this stroker setup works, the 4G64 crank provides the extra stroke, while the stock length 6 bolt rod is used. The "voodoo machinist magic" is all in the piston. The stroker style pistons allow for the extra stroke and this makes the whole system work.

If you look closely, Ross Racing put some serious overtime into designing these pistons for SBR. They basically worked with the idea of make them ready for whatever the customer will throw at them. They are designed to run your choice of boost, nitrous, fuel etc. These pistons are hard banodized a beautiful olive drab green so you know they didn't come to win on looks!

The 2.3 liter stroker is one of our favorite engine build ups because it is a very basic system that makes good torque in the bottom end and will also help you spool that large turbo you have your eye one! This is a bad, bad, bad setup with your choice of Manley or GRP Aluminum rods.

Not to be a dick or say that how long you been here means everything but i'm not gonna take the word of a lurker who has less than 200 post over a company that I have delt with numerous times and has yet to send me wrong or deffective stuff. I used a SBR GT14 on my last 1g tsi and it was flawless. Not to mention no one said they were getting a long or short block they asked about kits that YOU would install yourself. I would never get a block shipped already assembled worth that kinda money anyway.

From talking to jeff at SBR the MAnley I beam rods are a safer more reliable option that the aluminum rods anyway. I plan on going Wiesco HD pistons with Manley I beam rods 2.0 displacmenet and MAYBE a eagle crank.

Well you got ONE point right - how long I've been HERE means nothing.

I'm glad you've had great experience - I'll leave it at that.

Well since your posting HERE it means something. Jake Montgomery aka evil eagle has TWO points while some guys have 5 who don't know as much as he does. I'm not worried about people reffering me for points as long as I help them with my knowledge. I'LL leave it at that ;)

Edit: After looking at all 46 of your post I remembered your thread about your stroker and the reaching down toward the turbo of a running car move your buddy made while you guys sat there. If you can't even give your friends comon sense advice on something like "Hey man don't do that you might get burned" I think I'll pass on your tech advice ; )

Well...first off, they are built to order. We have a full machine shop next door so everything is done in house, unlike most of the rest of our competitors which have to have the machine work second sourced, which makes us capable of getting engines out quicker. Second, you are more than 100% lying. Out engines are fully lubed, sealed in a plactic bag and boxed in a crate before they leave here, so NO your friends engine that "came from us" was not rusted solid, unless he picked it up from the freight provider and dropped it in a lake for a week or so. If you could pm me with the names of thes eso called friends or customers of ours, i will gladly call them and get everything situated. My bets are i wont get a single name. :thumb:

Uh-huh...you do that. Good thing you know who my buddies are, right? And that they need my advice?? LOL

I gave NO tech advice other than pointing out that SBR rep himself said the option on their own website is not recommended - the OP can take it from there. I don't give two ***** about points so I don't know where that even came from.

Go ahead - post away after this about me with your little rebuttal about whatever you want to try to come up with - don't care ("All 46" of my posts should tell you that LOL!!) bye bye :D
