Ok here it is the ssautochrome 3" turboback exhaust that many been asking about. I finally was able to install it with a huge help of fellow members on this site :dsm:

Anyways here are pics of what it looks like compared to the stock exhaust:

Im not here to post a tech guide because kenamond already posted his :) Its really easy install, just takes so much time LOL. We had a problem with the O2 sensor and it wouldnt come off, we tried everything from PB blaster to using mallot and nothing. We managed to get the O2 out once the entire exhaust was removed. We just cut the wires off, of course I got a check engine light. We will fix that soon though. Other than that we had to make holes bigger in the DP flange, heres comparison:

It took a while but it finally got in there:

Other problem was the hanger was built on the wrong side, I think kenamond said manufacturer had to do that or something, he just twisted it the other way so it can get on the rubber hanger here a pic showing it on the wrong side:

Other than that everything seemed to fit in properly. Just time consuming. The muffler is real close to the bumper though, dont know how we can fix that, atleast it sticks out a bit. It also real close to the carrier bearings/driveshaft. Here are pics of it installed:

As for the sound, it is not ricey, it actually sounds nice and deep, but it is kind of loud, like kenamond stated. I might change muffler, but maby in the future as I dont have any money now. You instantly notice a huge difference in power. :) And all of you been asking for a vid clip, I have 4 comparing next to my friends apexi turboback exhaust.

Thanks yea you notice a huge difference, it pulls much harder. I noticed more of a difference than my IC pipes that I changed from stock.

It is loud though. Maby it just feels loud compared to my stock one and im not used to it  Here is stock vid just to add to the comparison :) Sounds puny compared to the SS LOL.

The hangers are bendable to adjust the fit. I had to do that on my Tsudo cat back and RRE high flow cat.

sounds good man, but I still love the Apex'i , can we see a video of the car going through the gears, I'd like to hear it then.. then comparison with your buddy's apex gonging through the gears WOT

The other flanges fit perfectly, only problem was the DP flange, like I stated in first post.

toojung, thanks for that, ill be fixing it soon :)

Yea the next videos will be driving, Ill probably do that tomorrow or Tuesday have my friend come over and do comparison driving.

I did notice, when I was driving, that it feels real loud at around 2500-3000rpm and at 5000-6000 rpm it real loud and it rattles a bit, maby its because of the loose hanger that we havnt fixed and maby the muffler to high up hitting the bumper. There was a harley next to me and it wasnt as loud as it, but it was close when we were at idle in stop light. Sounds like a race car LOL. I really like the sound, just wished it was quieter :( Is it possible to add another resonator? Somewhere where the pipe replaces the cat? Or is my only choice changing the muffler? Wish I can stick to the sound but make it quieter.

I forgot to state, that my idle is a bit messed up, for instance it idles at 750 then goes to 850 then 600 then 500 then back up to 750, but it does it real fast, its not steady like my friends. Its been like that before the exhaust, but now its more noticeable because of new exhaust, it sounds like its spitting (dont know the right term) like ba bum ba bum ba ba ba ba bum LOL, hopefully you guys understand what im saying. I know its not the plugs, I dont know if the wires could be a problem with that? plugs and wires are new so I really doubt it could be those. Dont know what else it could be?

FINALLY a sound clip....hehe ive been waiting so long. im going to order mine within 2 weeks...hopefully. I realy like the sound, deep and aggressive. you should get a vid of a fly by or rev then driving away

Weird. If I were choosing between these two canister style mufflers, and using those videos to make my decision, I would have chosen the SSAutoCatastrophe. It actually sounds better than the Apexi. It's clearly less raspy.

"Ill never understand why they weld a 3" exhaust and throw a 5-6" big tip on it."

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who feels that way about it.

how much did the exhaust run?

catback looks quite "bendy" for a 2g GSX, when compared to something such as the Megan which is very straight the entire route as seen below. While the Megan also has a big can, it sounds very good. quiet driving around; Not annoyingly droney, and it sounds mean wide open throttle!

Just so you know the other car in the vid is mine. I'm not sure if you watched/listened carefuly to the vid or not but my N1 has no raspiness in it whatsoever. It is quieter and idles like stock for that matter. Maybe he should post some flyby vids for you. Not to mention NO modifications needed to bolt on my Apex'i N1.

I think it ran him about $250 shipped. While installing the exhaust, I did notice that the axleback portion of the exhaust does have a bend to it that I've never seen on other 3" 2G AWD exhausts.

thanks for the idle surge link, i now have a nice guide to determine idle problem.

Anyways thanks for the response guys, it was 250 shipped. I love the sound as well, but I do think it is real loud like kenamond stated. Atleast it loud when driving. Ill see if I can take some vids of it driving this week.

I have the Megan Racing 3" turboback and love it except for the angle of the muffler exit. The angle of the muffler is worth it as the exhaust is extremely straight as shown above. It is also not too loud cruising around but sounds amazing wot.

ordering mine today!!!!!!

-could you get a vid of a rev then drive off? or fly by?

EDIT: actually, no im no going to order it today because they are sold out :'(

ok i finally got a new vid of exhaust in action. The video is kind of long LOL, i was with a friend and I was supposed to drive back, but I couldnt find a u-turn nearby my friend thought I was coming back and kept filming, he thought I was another car LOL. But check it out!
