hi there i'm looking into buying and installing a turbo on my eclipse on a short budget. I never plan on getting larger injectors or anything to tune, i just need to change my t25 cause its getting old and blowing oil through my intake pipes. So i figured why not do a small upgrade so i've been looking into a 16g. My concerns are that either i will get a kit and not be able to finish the install because the kit is missing some part, or that i will have to deal with boost creep. so i am looking for a very easy install and was thinking about getting this kit. do you guys know if this is a complete kit or will i need something to be able to finish the install.

If you never plan on buying upgraded injectors or anything to tune with, then I would find a used 14b to throw on there. You will see a larger gain with a 14b at 15psi then you will with the 16g at 12psi. You should not have much problem with the 14b creeping although mine did a little bit. I just ported it a little and it went away.Plus you said you are on a tight budget, a 14b is a cheap upgrade.

Yeah, go with the 14B. And I wouldn't recommend a turbo from SSAC (yeah this has been discussed over and over). Authentic MHI Evo III 16G's are cheaper nowadays but I guess you're on a tight budget. Btw just how much of a budget are you on?

A 2G 16G Solution kit is only $699 from turbochargers.com so there's a good deal.

Or you can get this deal from FP: http://linux.forcedperformance.net/...duct_Code=NTDSM16GBIG&Category_Code=DSM-Turbo but you'll need a install kit which can be made or purchased.

Your choice, but I would go with a 14B though because of the budget thing.

I second the 14b. At least with getting a 14b, you know what your getting.

If you are dead set on a 16g, I myself would pay a little extra for an MHI 16g and piece of mind.

i guess i should have specified, i dont' want anything used or in need of a porting. I'm looking to just turn a wrench one time and be done with it for at least another 4 years or 50k.
my budget is 600 or less total. thats why i was looking into that ssac kit, it comes with a manifold so no port there, a o2 housing, no port needed there, all new so i don't have to worry about unlocking bolts to reuse on my current manifold or o2 housing, but in the ad it mentions buying a 2g kit leaving me wondering what might be missing from this kit. maybe a water or oil line or like a elbow to connect piping.
anyone with personal experence with this kit or seller?

I doubt that SSAC turbo will last 50K miles buddy. Just check out the links I posted, you won't be disappointed.

are those complete kits or am i gonna find myself going to the mitsubishi dealership to buy bolts, gaskets, water, oil lines, any rubber hosing, ect. I just wanna make sure i have everything i need before i take on this task, and don't want to find out something like it creeps and i have to redo the work again.

You my friend, have a lot to learn. If you are remotely even looking to purchase an e316G (That's a whole 'nother arguement about which one to get) you WILL have to port your turbo. If you leave the stock unported cast turbine housing on there with an internal wastegate, you will have boost creep all to hell. So unless you plan on running 20+ psi all of the time, I would take the time to do a little research on how to port a turbo, what types of 16G's there are out there, the 2g solution kit, etc.

Oh, and another cynical comment from me. If you're looking to only wrench ONE time in 4 years/50k miles, you've got a surprise coming your way. LOL

You want my suggestion?
1. www.harborfreight.com ; buy a die grinder and a doublecut carbide burr and learn how to port.
2. port your turbine housing and o2 housing. STOCK manifold and o2 are awesome.
3. buy or build your own 2g install kit. You will reuse a lot of the bolts and such, but will need (recommended) new gaskets
4. Install it yourself. This way you'll know how to take it apart once the sumbitch creeps on you.

How's the boost creep on that T25? A 14b shouldn't be any worse than that. Then again, the T25 doesn't have enough piss to get too crazy, and I see your profile says you are running it at 19psi. -Is that even possible?

I really wouldn't worry about having to port something just yet. And another thing, to keep it under $600, you are probably going to HAVE to go with a used turbo. Shure, you can get a E316G (which is the only 16G variant I would personally consider purchasing) for about $550, but what about the J-pipe, feed and drain lines, and new gaskets to seal it up? -It isn't as simple as unbolt old turbo, bolt in new turbo.

I too, am going to recommend a used 14b if you are really set on a $600 limit and not upgrading the fuel system to run some higher boost.

Whatever you do, please don't buy any turbos from SSAC. -Intercoolers yes, turbos no.

Yeah you would be silly to buy a 16g if your never going to upgrade your injectors. As far as turning a wrench once and not touching it again for 50k nice try but you drive a dsm. If you want to be reliable and have an easy install and want cheap just buy another t25. That way you wont be making much power and you wont have to turn a wrench in maybe 5k.

the 16g turbos in the ebay kits are JUNK ive had some dealings with a local speed shop and they seen them come in a on a few 2gs and a 1g and they didnt even make 30k miles and they were running around 16psi...honnestly when you buy a turbo you usual get what you pay for. a 14b would do the job you want i may upgrade to that becuase i have a 13b for some reason but im thinking a 16g myself but it wont be bought on ebay :p

to be honest, youre not gonna go through a turbo install with NO problems. I dont think its possible. Or, its just my luck. There are so many things you have to realize COULD do wrong, break, or whatever. im not trying to scare you away from it, im just giving you a little warning.

as for the turbo, the SSAC turbo kits i wouldnt trust. only thing i would trust from them are their FMIC kits and theyve been proven to last and work. id spend a little extra cash and get a real 16g from a respectful shop.

I wouldn't spend $500 for a new 14b, I'd get a used one for half that or less. I'd get the 16G if you insist on buying new. Either way you go, you'll need these parts.

Boost creep is when your wastegate can't keep up and your turbo keeps raising boost past the desired level. It happens on quick spooling turbos when their wastegates are not improved somehow and you use a high flowing exhaust. Both of those turbos will likely creep somewhat if you really do have a true 3" turboback exhaust and don't want to do any porting work on them.
