I have a 98 spyder gs, I have replaced the head gasket and bolts (twice). Now I am losing oil at a fast rate, about a quart every 100 or so miles and its pouring thick white/gray smoke from the exhaust.. the smoke has a fuel/oil smell.. I'm not losing any coolant at all.. when I replaced the head gasket I had new valve guide seals installed. The car smoked slightly before the head job, but was loosing coolant pretty bad.. what can be causing the oil burning issue? I havent had a chance to leak down test, but compression was within spec. Usually when oil is burning in the combustion chamber it will foul the plugs but mine look good. It also loses power randomly to the point it seems like its about to shut off, if I give it more gas it stutters (like a misfire) and blows a huge cloud of smoke and runs fine. I have no cel on, or history codes.. I also replaced the plugs, wires, pcv, coil, and fuel filter. after about 10 minutes of driving the smoke clears up pretty much completely. Once I get home from work (20 minute drive) I can rev it as much as I want with little to no smoke.. I'm kinda baffled right now as to what the issue could be..
