Spun a bearing... what next?

Well somehow some way the car I think spun a bearing while it was idling. I start the car and it was running like hell. It sounded like it would barely run and wouldn't respond to throttle. I then did a compression check on the car and cylinder #4 has 0 compression.

So I drained the oil and it appears there are some small gold shavings that drained out of the oil. I then pulled the oil pan and looked at the crank and what I could see of the pistons. From what I saw nothing really looked messed up from what I saw. What should I do next?

The motor is a 7 bolt with Eagle Rods, Wiesco pistons, and HKS 264/272 cams.

look at the big end of the rods.. are they discolored?

pull the rod caps and inspect the bearings. (do not mix the rod caps up)

check your thurst washer on the crank and check end play

pull and inspect the main bearings.

check the balance shaft and bearings

did you have crank work done for the rebuild? ground or polished? if so did you clean the crank befor the install? the oil ports gun brushed?

Spinning a bearing shouldn't cause 0 compression. I spun 3 rod bearings and 3 main bearings when my oil pump failed, but still had good compression.

K I'll see what I can do today.

As far as the crank goes I didn't build the motor the previous owner did and the receipts from the motor build said it was polished.

Do I have a hole in my block most likely then?

if you have zero compression in one cylinder, then you may have bent valves or a hole in the piston..

look at the block, if you have a hole in it you will see it....

I couldn't notice any holes in the block about to pull the motor and inspect it as soon as I get a chance.

at this point all you may need to do is pop the head off
