ok so my act 2600 came apart after 250 miles and they will not take care of it so i am going to try one of those other brands my queston is on the 6puck disk is it better to have it sprung or solid???

What kind of driving are you doing? A sprung hub is going to have a lot better street feel, an unsprung to going to be a little more aggressive. Depends on how you like to drive it. Before you drop another clutch in it however, check to make sure your clutch pedal bracket is in good shape. Mine started to strip the pivot for the master and started dragging the clutch but I didn't know it. I blew two clutches before I found out. Just trying to save you a headache if something else caused that clutch to go bad so soon.

well everything was replaced (cables,master/slave.) the pedal is in good shape. i was driving in on the free way takin it easy and i parked it and started to wash and wax it and my friend needed a ride so i whent to get him and it would not shift or anything then the pressure plate came apart and pieces shot though the bell housing. the disk is ok but the tob and pressure plate are toast.

i was going to jsut run a oem or duralast for a while but i dont think they will like 25psi\
i drive the car easy and only get on it every once and a while. but now that this is happened i think i might just tub it and make a drag car.
what do you think about xtd?? i have no idea what to look for now.

i ship out on the 12 of this month so the car will be driven bye my girlfriend and my buddy just to keep the fluids movin and so nothing happens.

the oem

yea i have heard of that clutch. there not bad priced? 210 shipped for a good clutch thats not bad.

i had an xtb stage 4 for about 2500 miles and liked it. it had a 6 puck disk, barely chattered at all. the throwout bearing started making noise after 1k miles. And the splines on the disk were not machined right, I had to file them down to get it to slide on the output shaft of the tranny. However, they took off more money and it worked fine. Definetly get a stock throwout bearing and shim the fulcrum ball. I'm going to be purchasing another one soon for my new dsm, so overall I feel their worth the $ comparing it to your fancy act that ate shit. and xtd does sell disks you should just replace the disk if you can. Goodluck

yea i don't want to get a act this is the second set up that has messed up on me. the disk i have is all that's is good. i think i might try the stage4 xtd and just get a oem tob but my question is what is better a sprung disk or unsprung?

any other decent clutches out there at a good price?? i might just put the duralast in there just to put it together.

With a puck clutch i like the unsprung. Most of the sprung puck clutches i've used in a lot of different cars have crapped out the springs. Probably because the grip of the puck clutches strains them more. I don't have any problems at all with an unsprung puck, even in traffic. I have driven a car with the xtd stage 4 setup, make sure it has the white pressure plate. In my book these are one of the best ebay items for these cars. A lot of other ebay clutches are junk, but the one i drove held great. They rate them for over 500 ft/lbs, and i believe it.
