I have been driving on my new suspension for a little over a week now and the ride is at stock height, maybe even a 1/2 inch or so higher! I have new sprint springs and st struts. Supposedly they are a 2" drop but evidently not.I don't think it's possible but did I put them in backwards or something?

Every time I've seen that happen it's because the sleeves in your suspension bushings are seized. A good way to check this is to move the lower control arm while you have the strut disconnected, if you press down on the arm and it goes back to where it was, that is your problem.

Good Luck!

OK so I have a set of Energy Suspension front control arm bushings here that I haven't had the time to put in yet. Once I do you think they will fix it?

Well if you have them sitting around you might as well put them in, but I would do the rebound test in my earlier post first to see if this is your problem.

Well I took today off from work and got them on, what a PITA! Now the handling definately feels more firm and responsive but the car is still tall as hell (I can fit my hand in the wheel gap, just over 4 fingers). I don't know what else to do. I'm this close - to cutting those damn sprint springs. Maybe a link or 2 off of the compressed end where they just lay on top of one another anyway. Good idea? Any last resorts, besides this?

Oh and IIRC when I first changed the suspension I checked for rebound then and they seemed fine. Also the stock struts and springs I removed were shot, but the stock springs were cut (2 links all around) and the car was lower then (about 2 finger gap all around). I don't see why by changing that crap out, for actual new parts whose job is to lower the car correctly, how would the car not be lower. If something was binding then it wouldn't have been lower before correct? Maybe these springs are just BS and don't lower the car?

Maybe you were mistakenly given something else? I'd ask the people you bought it from about it.. I have 2" sprints on mine.. (see sig)

Well the handling feels good but they are noisy. I hear alot of clunking from the rear passenger side and the fronts. Nothing needs replacing though. I think it all looks good.

bhop: How does the car handle on the sprints? thanks

I'm sure many will prefer a different spring, but ...

I think the sprints are a good spring for the street considering their height. They're probably more on the soft side, so you get a nice smooth ride that's more forgiving with potholes and uneven roads, but they still handle great, especially if you mate it with good shocks. When I had my stock tires, I noticed a huuuge difference in cornering. When I got the 18's, the handling multiplied by much more.

My springs are not noisy at all. You may have a blown shock, or maybe you did put them in wrong or something?

Bhop do your 18 inch rims rub up against the wheel well when you turn. I have my Gs dropped with sprint springs and its low, and i was told i can't fit 18's with a two inch drop without them rubbing.

Never rubs. I think the wheel can only be 7.5". The tire has the be the proper size as well 215/40/18 is what I have I think..

They came as a set with new struts. I have done suspension work plenty of times and this is why I am a little confused because I am pretty sure I did it all correctly. Just lots of squeaks and thumps over rough spots in the road.

and your sure these are sprint springs...and not stock?
usually people say that the sprints lowered their car alittle too much, not the other way around

Yeah, I bought them from a company online. They are deffinately not stock. They are progressive rate springs. The coils are all bunched up at one end and spaced out on the other. I have the bunched up end facing up, is that wrong. Does it even matter?

the clunking and squeeking is most likely coming from the spring insulator...the nice triangular pad that holds the spring down onto the strut. Those all have bearings inside them, and when the bearings go bad, you'll get clunks and squeeks. They're about $50 a peice from advanced auto or something, i'd consider changing those...:thumb:
