Has anyone ever heard of this before? I was taking the Talon out for a ride today and, thankfully, only got out to the street my house is on when I heard a loud *BANG*. Got out and the driver's rear looked like it had been significantly lowered. Since it was rolling fine, I slowly drove the car back to my garage and jacked it up.

The spring somehow slipped off of the rear shock: (I already unmounted the assembly in this picture)

I took the assembly apart and everything looks fine other than the strut bumper is worn out (same on the other side) and the metal sleeve at the top is seized onto the shock. The rubber bushings are in good shape and so is the rubber mount.

I ordered two replacement shocks that will be available Friday morning. I also ordered a new hardware kit for this one and new strut bumper/bellows for both sides.

Wow that's odd.
A little while back I hit a rough section in construction & broke the bottom spring seat on the strut. Not slipped out like yours seemed to have done.
