Speedo help

Ok I've searched and didn't find any help so. My mechcanic says the motor and tranny are different years so the speedo will not hook up. The motor is suppose to be a '98 block and he says the tranny is a '94 is that possible arn't the bell housing different. Can anyone help me out?

The transmissions from different years will fit into different cars 1g to 2g and 2g to 1g. The speedo cable shouldn't be any problem. You may have to change the sensor but if I think that is all I had to do was change the sensor. You shouldn't have any problem with the 94 tranny and a 98 block. Good luck with it.

Good look man. I'll get the car back tonight so I will take a close look at it.
