spark plugs that create 1million watts (Pulstars, pulstar, pulse) [Merged] snake oil

Thats a good point...I mean they did show you the dyno numbers and supposedly waited equal amounts of time between allowing cooling. Started the runs at the same coolant temp and stuff. Im very skeptical and even if they work like they say they would probably be too hot for my car. Buddy of mine put the new Bosch fusion plugs in his jeep. He has never had a single problem with it and it only has 42K miles on the motor. He put them in and the motor started missing and backfiring, he got a CEL, and a knock sound. He had to go to the store manager to get his money back after showing him what the diff was between the fusions and stock plugs. He ended up putting NGKs in it and it runs like a champ. NGKs are the answer for everyone!

Ive seen the new E3 spark plugs preform on horse power TV this weekend and it was impressive to say the lest. they tested another supposedly the best second competitor plug and the E3 plug ended up making 5 more horse power then the competitor did and also saved more gas then all the other spark plugs to top it all off. This test was preformed in a lab on equipment made for testing this it was also done on a V8:D

What are your guys views on this topic??? any one running these plugs in a DSM yet. Thats making me want to go buy some.:sneaky::talon:

they also had it on Stacey David's new show Gears or whatever. Hes usually not one to spread bullshit just for money or sponsorships.

For my DSM, ill stick with tried and true NGK BPR6 or 7ES. Just like my 03 Cobra gets NGK TR6ix.

I thought I had posted this already. oh well.
Has anyone ran Pulstar pulse plugs? I have them sitting in my garage waiting to go in my Z but I'd like to know if they would work well on the Talon also. They got good reviews and were tested in the Z by a couple of magazines. Thanks.

Here we go again. Let me go through my list of responses for these....
Our cars use only NGK's. Pulstars are garbage. They should be put together with "snake oil." The dyno tests show 5 hp increase which is a typical dyno accuracy tolerance. Even if they did increase it ever so slightly, it's not worth $25 a plug. Enough said. For more, search pulstars in our friendly, neighborhood search function.

Threads about the Pulstar plugs get moved to Dead End Threads pretty quickly where they are not searchable. To read previous threads about the plugs scroll back to where Defiant is on line and find a thread that has been moved to DET and then click on the Dead End Thread forum name and scroll back manually. Caution the threads get ugly.

Stay safe.

Big talk on the forum huh. Bet you dont talk to people like that in person.

Anyways, I'm not here to act like a 15 year old. I searched but I have a problem with the internet over here. (Iraq) I get timed out all the time. To the others, thanks for your feedback.

And if you want to see if I really own a DSM numb nuts( crimsondragon) you can check it out in my new member introduction here.

Who cares what he does "in person"? This is a forum and he quoted the rules you are showing an exceptional inability to follow. Drop the tough-guy act here, don't insult members, and read the rules...twice.

Fix your avatar.

Locked.

Aren't they like $20 each? If so then I think I can gain more than 7-10 with that $80. Oh and they don't work.

Things you can do for $80

ebay catback
ebay intake and K&N filter
warlboro 190
14b
supra sidemount
uicp and 1g bov
afc or a little more for an safc
evo injectors
detailing (nothing better than a super clean car)

or

enough parts for a ton of general maintenance.

I love how NOBODY has run them yet everyone is bashing them. My time tested review process is rock solid and very simple:

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE FIRST HAND TEST KNOWLEDGE OF THEM, SHUT UP AND WAIT FOR SOMEONE THAT DOES.

Very simple. This applies to members AND moderators.

Now, anyone that has ACTUALLY USED THEM offer any kind of actual test data such as (independent) dyno runs?

Other cars have run them and one of the main problems is that they break very easily. Bits of the spark plug have broken off, gotten lodged between piston and the cylinder wall, destroyed the motor and basically had to be rebuilt. How's that for a positive review?

Backinajiffy, I've merged your recent thread with others that discuss the same topic. As you can see, the Pulstar debate comes up about every few months, ever since they debuted a few years ago. And also as you can see, general consensus is that they are a waste of money, since the stock spark plugs (give or take a heat range) will do the job quite sufficiently, at a cost of $2 per plug. The science behind the ignition of a gas/air mixture, the capabilities of our stock ignition system, etc. all point to a verdict that the extra million watts of power won't do anything more than a standard NGK spark plug as far as producing power. The extra spark can't make the flame front travel faster, it can't increase cylinder pressures. Variances across dyno runs are notorious, regardless if you change anything or not between runs; a 5 hp difference between runs might be due to different spark plugs or it might be due to lower air temperatures or a fully warmed-up engine.

Well i've read some good stuff about pulstar spark plugs but has any one tried them on our cars. They are pretty expensive though, i checked out their website an they wanted $25 per plug. They also recommend they be Gapped to .025". Anyone one have any experience or any insight on them.

Seriously? You couldn't wait to make this thread without searching? I'm sorry I have no pity for you, this has been beaten to death so many times in the last few months, a search would've gotten you the thread that all the other threads got merged to, soon to be this thread's final resting place, found here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/han...on-watts-pulstars-again-merged-snake-oil.html That took less than 20 seconds to open a new window, search, and link it. Seriously, use the search button.

well i did search but i was writing the name pulstar spark plugs in the search , how i'm i suppose to know if the name of the company is pulstar and not pulstars like it comes in the search.

Next time make sure that you select "search entire thread" and not "search title only", that was probably your issue. Not to be a totaly d!ck here, but seriously, this has been beaten to death, I was a member of this site for months before I actually needed to post something. I can guarantee you that almost everything you need to know can be found with the proper searching skills.

Merged with the master "Pulstar" thread, and edited the title so the singular "pulstar" comes up in the search.

As you can see, your DSM will be just fine with standard NGK plugs. They don't need platinum, iridium, or plugs that magically create 1.21 jiggawatts of electricity. As someone pointed out a few pages back, it doesn't matter how hot or big the spark is, it's not going to burn the fuel/air mixture any more efficiently.
