Yea.. I can't even believe myself right now. On my greddy bov (pinkish purple top) someone had stripped the alen wrench adjusting middle hole and now it was way too tight (I just bought the car). So I thought "durr, ill just back out the middle peace by tightening the nut".. so I get out the 10mm and start tightening the nut to back out the middle piece and fubar'd all of my threads... no joke.. the entire hole is smooth and no more threads. Any suggestions or is the whole thing toast?

This is very common with the greddy bov's. They suck in all honesty. What I did was so ghetto but it worked. I took the top part off and used 2 quarters on the top of the springs to make it a little stiffer and block the hole off, after doing that I filled the hole with silicone and nows its the best bov ever.

That screw just adjusts the load on the spring by pushing down on it. You could try retapping using a bigger size and find a screw that would fit (don't forget to take the top off first). I just don't know how well it would seal, but you could try using gasket maker or teflon tape if there are any leaks.

Just buy a greddy knock off on ebay and replace the tops...be careful when you take the top off(purple part) because everything will spring open real fast and you dont want to lose any parts.

The best remedy is what blazebolt suggested. Retap, find bolt and nut combo size that you tapped the threads for on the BOV cap. Use some thread seal tape (teflon) as mentioned. You should be good.

It's a common problem, so don't worry.

Only 2 quarters was enough? For how much boost.. Ill do this for now until i can retap it.

I'm glad dsm's have such a helpful community :thumb:
