hey guys i was driving over a speed bump and didnt slow down like i should of well after i hit it my car started to make a rubbing noise and it shuts the engine off if i keep it on any ideas on what it could be? doesnt sound like metal grinding kinda like hard plastic any ideas????

OK this is for a friend but here's the jist....

Dude was driving down the highway when he hit a bump. From then on it sounded as if his turbo was going out. When he had his car running at a stop his idle would surge then drop to like 200 range before dying. He checked the IC pipes and they are secure. What could it be...I'm thinking ISC maybe got knocked out or 02 Sensor may gotten damaged.

Sorry for being so vauge this is the only info i was given....

If its not intercooler piping, it could be a vacuum leak. I would check all your vaccum lines.

Installed Tokico lowering springs and shocks. Car rides pretty decent around town and on the highway. The only problem is if i bottom out a bump or an uneven section of road the car dies? I put it in neutral and it cranks right back up. Any theories on this. Is there anything i can do to prevent this? The car is in excellent mechanical shape....

it sounds to me that you have a bad circuit somewhere. that could be from something not plug in right to a short citcuit.

i would start by checking the coil, test it and make sure is plug in right, also your ignition power transistor. also check your ecu and make sure everithing is plug in and looking normal. it could also be your ignition switch going bad. so check all of those and report back.

Do you have an upper strut bar? Often a loose battery will cause the positive terminal to ground out on either the strut bar or the underside of the hood (if its loose enough) causing the car to sputter.

I agree with these guys, check all your connections and make sure nothing is loose. This is a weird situation but I am with blackGSX95, check your battery out, if you can lift your cables they are loose find a way to fasten them. It maybe just your battery jumping around as well. Another good thing to do would be DON'T BOTTOM OUT! Especially if you just lowered your car. I always take deep driveways and steep ramps out of parking lots slow and at an angle to never hurt my baby.. LOL.
