I recently opened my air canister to take out the honey comb but never did so I left it as is. Could this be causing a loud whining noise when I accelerate, then as the power just disappears and it sputters and tries to stall  If any body could give me a yes, no or somekind of answer, would be appreciated.
Also...
Is there anything attached the rivots on the air can insidde?

What do you mean whining noise? Is it coming from intake or from the motor itself? Go out, start your car and pop your hood, manipulate the throttlebody cable to rev the motor and see if you can determine or pinpoint the source of the noise. Let me know what you find out.
PS stay clear of all belts/gears and turbo, you'll need all your fingers to fix your car. ;)

It happens when I accelerate in gear and get to about 2500 rpms and it starts whining and the car just stops accelerating and can't go faster than 35 miles per hour. the sound gets louder as i get on the gas at about 3000 rpm then just stops accelerating. The sound only appears when in gear, also my idle is really low and tries to stall if im not on the throttle.

Bad wastegate, BOV, any ideas?

Well sounds like you did something when you took the MAS apart. Go through and make sure you put everything back the right way. With your idle now being a problem I think something is not connected or bolted down all the way, because your MAS seems like it's not reading all the air going in and that would cause the idle problem. Go over what you did and make sure it's right.

Other than what crazydevil said, perhaps you have a tensioner going bad, bad water pump or oil pump that is on its way out. If its not MAS related it has to be something belt driven...ie reacts to fluctuation of RPM's. So your saying the car physically will not exceed 35 mph and or 3000 rpm's? I know the MAS is a very sensitive instrument, b/c I tried to remove the lower honeycomb in my car and it refused to run period. Be very careful with the MAS b/c my buddy Adam dropped his original on the shop floor, we re-installed it and it would not work. Other than the possible causes mentioned above I am at a loss.......

i had my dad look at the car and he said the same thing about the MAS so i'm going to go back over it on my day off and hopefully ill have it fixed thanks for the help

ok I went ahead and removed the small honeycomb and silencer in the MAF, but it still makes that loud high pitched whine at about 3500 rpm. Also I forgot to mention before but I tried to remove the restrictor in the BCS but it was no doing, nothing came out so I just left it as is. Could the BCS have anything to do with the noise, hesitation and flat out terrible performance?

Ok, Ive replaced the vacuum hoses, so its not that. Heres the symptoms: whining noise starts at about 2000 rpm and 7 psi, then gets louder, then goes to about 14 psi with almost no pressing of the throttle, it also shutters and jumps with more acceleration. What is my problem? BCS, BOV, Wastegate Actuator? these are the only things i could think would be wrong

I'm totally stumped with your problem. The last thing you mentioned about the stuttering, my car does it also......I figured out it was a broken connection at the MAS....or so I hope. The boost thing gets me, I don't understand why you would be spiking. What mods have you done to the car?

Not sure if you said you had a boost controller but check that, it sounds like a boost leak. i had a bad leak through my bov and it made a really really annoying high pitched noise check all over for leaks, or make a boost leak tester. I bet thats what it is!

try datalogging the car, and check to see that everything is o.k.!!!!!! i have no idea but if the maf is screwed, the 02 voltage should tell you whats going on...... you probally know but the 02 should read around .82 to .95.......... to make the car do what you say it is, it would have to be very lean or rich and still wouldn't explian the whinning noise!!!!! but that would elimate the maf being the source of the problem......good luck!!!!!! ;)

I forgot that i removed the o2 housing when I, well never mind what I was doing, but it wasnt seling properly so fixed it and the was it.

Thanks for all the help
