okay to start off i have read up on this a little more its done this every since we swapped the motor. as soon as i start my car it makes a grinding noise for about 5-10 minutes and after it warms ups it quits and the whole day it wont do it again unless the car sits and cools down... i know its not the started because we just replaced it

but i did notice a thin metal plate between the tranny and the engine its bent up out i dont know if that has something to do with it but please this is driving me nuts!

sorry for the horrible explanation :confused::confused::confused::confused:

Happened to me with my last engine. The bolt holes for the trans bolts on my last block were stripped out. So the trans separated from the block little by little.

If you don't have any gap, your inspection cover/dust shield between your block and trans could be the culprit. Also happened to me except mine so really bad.

When my trans separated from my block, the flywheel would grind on my bell housing but usually only until it warmed up (when using the clutch).

Did you bench test your starter to make sure the gear returned to the cylinder without sticking or if it's staying on for a bit after the motor has started. Both has happened to me
