Grinding Noise upon start

Ok. my car is now making weird sound everytime i start up the car. It makes some kind of grinding noise inside the tranny. I was guessing either the flywheel and starter is not engaging right, but if that is the case, it would still make noise while the car is on. I also thought about starter motor going bad. Or there could be metal inside the flywheel that might cause grinding. But I do not know exactly what is wrong with it. Please HELP ME. I am going crazy because of this.

Your starter is not disengaging fast enough. There is a tech article on how to cure this. Mine was doing it too, now it's fixed.

does it sound like metal clanging together?

THIS COULD BE THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE... YES I KNOW WHAT IT IS NOW...

probably a flywheel if its metal on metal. dont start it too much youll chip some teeth, and thats no good.

i asked paul at newlogics and he said he thinks its the throw out bearing.. it sounds more like metal clapping rather than grinding...

and if you look at the most resent thread ive started... i dont have a choice... i have to listen to that advice for now...

Well there's probably a lot of things that can make a noise like that and since none of us can hear each other's noises, I'm going to say that MY problem is the starter since the tranny was replaced recently and the TOB with that.

I also thought of the clutch.
But the part is that the clutch has been changed.
Brand new about 100 miles ago.
The people might have messed up when they were putting together.
But throw-out bearing giving out that much metal dust?
I highly think something is grinding but just don't know what is.
I will try to do cleaning the starter. hope it cures the problem.
