I searched but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I have an aeromotive fpr with the socketless -6AN install kit & I was wondering what people do to connect it to the factory return line? I imagine you get rid of the rubber hose & connect it directly to the hard line but how do you do this? The -6 socketless hose is quite abit larger then the factory rubber hose and very hard so it doesn't seem like it will compress properly & make a good seal if I just clamp it on. Maybe a -6AN to npt adapter, then a compression fitting will work?

I was thinking maybe I could use the stock rubber hose (or get some more the same size if it isn't long enough) and just connect it to the hard return line (like it already is) and connect the other end to the -6an push lock fitting? What does everybody else do?

The fitting I got from Slowboy was a barbed fitting that was threaded, and it needed an adapter fitting to plug into the regulator.

EDIT: Yes, it used the stock rubber hose. Sorry, I didn't answer that question on the first try.

-red97rum-, he needs to hook it up to the actual return line line not the fuel rail. :thumb:

Does anybody know the actual size of the rubber return line, so I can get the right barb fitting.

So am I to assume everybody is just using their stock rubber hose to connect to the metal return line or an equivanent size rubber hose that will withstand 70+psi if the stock isn't long enough?

What did you do at the regulator side with the push lock fitting, side the rubber hose over it & leave it like that or use a clamp as well? (manufacturer says not to use clamps with this style fitting but thats maybe only when your using the proper pushlock hose which is much firmer)

I'm bringing this thread back because this problem really hasn't been resolved and it's happening to me now. Basically, same problem. I'm trying to use the stock return line on the aeromotive FPR. The return nipple coming off is probably a 3/8" ID barb-WAY too big for the stock line. I originally had it jerry-rigged with a piece of large hose coming off the FPR and an adapter to the smaller stock line but evidently the walbro can push a lot of fuel. The adapter ended up falling off the big hose and caused a huge fuel leak. Thank God I was fiddling around with DSMlink and smelled the fuel. So if anyone would like to share on how they fixed it (preferably using Home Depot parts), I'd like to know.

Also, I have already seen the aeromotive part that goes from -6an to 7mm. Everybody is out of them until mid-Aug.

If 2G's have the same size return hard line's as 1G's, then a 3/8" ID line will work. Just use a worm gear clamp instead of the puny stock one. :thumb: Just a side note, I've been running mine like that close to a year now w/ no problems.

The nipple coming off the return port of the FPR is made for a 6an hose. There's no way that the stock line is going to fit on that. Maybe the 1g is different than the 2g but the stock hose OD is barely larger than the nipple ID.

Well I guess 2G's are different then. FYI I have a 6an soketless fitting @ the FPR return, bought 3/8" ID fuel hose, then used the clamp on the return hard line as previously stated. I re-read the first post and now know why this didn't work for him. The hose he used wasn't flexible enough to compress over the hard line while beeing clamped on. He's better off using a regular fuel hose @ the return.

Yep. And therein lies the problem. The regular fuel hose is much too small to fit over the 6an socketless fitting. What I want to know is if there's a way to use the 6an socketless fitting and make it fit onto the regular stock fuel hose.

It seems like your best bet is to take your stock return hose (for reference) and the socketless fitting to a parts store, like Autozone, and try different size lines untill you find something that'll work. Sorry I couldn't help much. Good luck though!

I ended up using the aeromotive -6an to 7mm barb for this, posted it in a couple other places (summit racing had them in stock), it works perfect. The barb is slightly larger then the barb on the factory return line so the factory rubber line works perfectly & I also used the factory clamp on it.

I have a complete sockless system. I use the socketless hose and a clamp for the return out of my fuel regulator and I have had no problems
