well, kind of on the plus side, i bought this car non running and knew it needed a rebuild. Just didnt know how bad til now. Lol. On the plus side im only into the car for 600 atm so not bad imho.

Also, :(, the stock turbo has roughly 1/8" of in and out play so thats a gonner. ><

No idea. I bought the car as is and knew the motor was bad. When i started to pull the motor apart, it had a new timing belt which leads me to assume that the guy either had just installed a timing belt, and messed the timing up. Or the guy completely revved the sh** out of it and blew the motor and thought "oh it just needs a timing belt". Either way the guy was an idiot and needs to be more caring for inanimate objects!

well i know how u feel mines looks the same way exept the num 1 piston has a chunk taken out of the side of it n when i bought it off the guy he said it jus needed a new head gasket so now i gota do the same thing u r doin. but a quick question if i take off my head n oil pan can i reach the pistons from the bottom side unbolt them slide them out n put new 1s in???????

what happened is the guy probably busted his timing belt and then tried to throw on a fresh one to see if it would fix his problem. like it won't mess anything up when that happens. LOL

I have seen worse as far as the head goes... good time for some +1mm valves to be fit in the head!

best of luck with the build up!

Yeah, I changed all of mine with the shortblock still in the car.

whew.. If it was on craigslist in east oklahoma I almost bought that one for $500, I just didn't want to haul it back..
If you need a new head I somewhat know a guy here in tulsa that has a few.
He works at LKQ salvage so he can get his hands on things..

as long as the bores are not scarred, or out of round or too excessive of wear....
set of pistons and rings hung on the rods with the head fixed you should be fine.
