alright so i know this kid who just got a mustang gt for his first car. im not sure what year it is, but i think its like an 01 or 02. its all stock, and supposedly hes missing 2nd gear. he thinks he will absolutely SMOKE my 91 gsx, im not so sure. my car isnt running right now, my stock maf went out and i still need some injectors before i can put on my 2g maf setup i got. my car is going to be all stock, other than a 2g maf, an intake pipe, and some 550cc or 560cc injectors, and possibly an evo fuel pump (if i can get the one im lookin at for the right price). i also have a tubular t2 manifold, a t3 20g, and a tubular o2 housing sitting in my garage ready to go on (im still debating whether on not to use it). im completely broke, im unemployed and a college student, so other upgrades arent going to happen right now. im getting the injectors for a christmas present just so i can get it running right with the 2g maf. from what ive found on here, i should be able to get some pretty decent gains from stock with the 2g maf, intake, injectors, manifold, turbo, etc, plus probably a fuel pump rewire and maybe a fuel pump. fmic will have to wait till i get money, but i figure it will be ok, seeing as its cold in WA for the next few months, and ill only be running maybe 14 or 16 psi max. i was also thinking about just dropping my cat converter so it looks like i have a stock exhaust but have an open downpipe. what is your opinion on that? im guessin it would help flow to get a restrictive cat out of there, idk..
anyways, i guess my question is:
would i be a good bit faster with my 20g and stuff on, and would i be fast enough to smoke this mustang??? if not, say in like 3 months i can afford to get an exhaust, big fmic, some larger injectors and an afc (or other tuning device of sorts) would i take him? im not a mustang fan, and have no idea what they can do.. thanks!!!
