smoking still

my friend had a leaky 16g with bad seals so it was smoking alot... he then rebuilt the motor with some 272 cams je pistons, rings, rods and cometic HG... the works..
he then swapped the turbo for a brand new PTE journal bearing turbo.. and even after a breakin of 2000 miles the car still smokes.. we checked the rings, HG.. everything looks fine.. we thought yes it would smoke a bit during break in but after 2000 miles still smoking... any info would help..

1. What color was the smoke then and what color is the smoke now?
2. Is he still using the same exhaust on the car that he was when he blew the turbo? Sometimes it takes awhile to burn everything out of there unless you clean it out including the cat.
3. Compression test on all four cylinders?

yea i figured theres puddles of oil sittin in the exhaust still... it looks a little greyish blue.. and as for the compression ... ill check that out.. thx bro

exhaust most likely has oil in it. if its still smoking also clean out all the vacuum hoses, oil can get in there as well
